Financial Risk Management

The Financial Risk Management Team in the UK is an area of growth within KPMG’s Advisory practice. Working closely with international regulators and major financial institutions our success and reputation is built on our ability to provide clients with value-adding thought leadership and quality delivery, based on our peoples’ high levels of technical and practical experience.

Financial Risk Management (FRM) is an integrated group, which comprises our underlying Risk, Regulatory and Actuarial service areas. We currently have a team of approximately 180 UK-based advisers across three service areas:

Risk – the breadth of experience and specialism within the team means that you can provide advice and assistance to clients through every part of the business cycle, as well as providing specialist assistance to KPMG Transaction Services and Corporate Finance teams.

Regulatory – a close working relationship with the FSA ensures that you can provide our clients with unique insight into regulatory interpretation, and the breadth of clients covered gives the ability to benchmark to leading practice.

Actuarial – as well as concentrating on the traditional valuation issues, you can help the team to develop and expand its offerings to provide services that respond to major regulatory and financial change and transactions and restructuring within the industry.

You’ll be providing advisory services to a range of clients, primarily within the financial sector. These clients include retail and commercial banks, insurance firms and capital market organisations. Our key client stakeholders range from The Board of Directors, Audit committees and Chief Risk Officers to individual function heads within a business. You’ll also have extensive contact with the financial regulators.

If we’re to continue our success and maintain our reputation in the marketplace, our people must have outstanding skills. Therefore we invest significant amounts of money, time and energy in developing our people. You’ll be provided with a combination of technical training, coaching and mentoring, skill building programmes and industry secondments.
