Professional Development and Qualifications

There are a number of professional study routes available within the UK firm’s Audit practice, all of which are highly respected chartered accountancy qualifications. These are:

• Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) which is offered by the ICAEW (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales)

• Chartered Accountants (CA) which is offered by ICAS (the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland). All trainees in Scotland study for CA.

• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

All of the routes are three year courses. The entry requirements for graduates applying to join in 2011 are 320 UCAS tariff points, a grade B in GCSE Maths and English and at least a 2:1 in any subject.

We also offer Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) for some trainees in Public Sector Audit.

All the qualifications we offer are of equal standing in the industry.

All of our trainees receive support from our dedicated Professional Qualifications Team, who will help you with all of the arrangements for examinations and college time. At KPMG, we understand that it is challenging to study for a professional qualification whilst working, so you are provided with tuition and time off to study.

For Audit you will need to choose which professional qualification to study for when making your initial application. Different qualifications are available in different offices, so please visit the How to Apply page to see what is available.
