KPMG achieves Carbon Trust Standard

KPMG in the UK has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard across all 22 of its UK offices after taking action on climate change by measuring and reducing its carbon emissions by 5.5% in the year to September 2009 when comparing the year ending in September 2009 to the average of the previous two years.

Exam success for December 2009 sitting

Congratulations to all the trainees who passed professional qualification examinations in the December 2009 sitting. The results were published on Friday, 22 January by the ICAEW and on Friday, 29 January for CIPFA and ICAS. One hundred and ninety-three trainees received first attempt exam results from a variety of different paper combinations across the three institutes. The overall first-time pass rate was 84 per cent. Special praise goes to KPMG trainee Emma Young who was awarded joint first place in the ICAEW Financial Accounting (FA) Top Up paper with a mark of 98 per cent. Further to this, Rebecca Gleave and Matthews Grosvenor have won two out of the nine top prizes available in the November sitting of the Chartered Institute of Taxation examinations in recognition of their exceptional performance. Rebecca achieved the CCH Prize for the candidate with the second highest total marks in two advisory papers while Matthew won The Ian Walker Medal for the candidate with the highest mark in the awareness paper.
