Risk Consulting: Accounting Advisory

Accountancy Advisory Services provide a broad range of accounting and structuring advice to clients relating to major business transactions or transformations.

Working closely with our clients to understand and define their commercial and business needs, we combine our expert technical accounting skills with strong project management and IT system knowledge to develop and implement the optimal solution.

Our Graduate Programme in Accountancy Advisory Services (AAS) is designed to help you gain and refine business and accounting skills, as well as provide opportunities to advise our clients on various aspects of their financial functions. Within AAS you can expect to work closely with clients as you assist them in areas ranging from regulatory and statutory reporting to group structuring, accounting systems and implementing new accounting requirements.

Training and Development

In addition to gaining broad accounting and commercial experience, our graduates train for either the ICAEW (Chartered) or the ACCA (Certified) professional accounting qualification – your choice will be discussed at interview. We’ll also devise a plan that allows you to work across the range of services that AAS offer and map out your training to make sure you meet the requirements of the relevant accounting institute.

By joining KPMG you’ll soon be adding your name to a long list of graduates who’ve already excelled in their professional exams. For example, in September 2011, 92% of KPMG ICAEW trainees sitting their Professional Stage papers passed first time, compared to an Institute average of 76%. But don’t let the facts fool you. It won’t be easy. The fact that KPMG trainees consistently outperform Institute pass marks is a real testament to our people and the quality of our training.

Over the course of a three-year ACA or ACCA training programme you’ll spend around 20% of your work time studying. That’s equivalent to a day a week, so you can be sure of joining a firm that takes your development as seriously as you do. KPMG also has the largest full time Professional Qualification Training team of the Big Four – dedicated to giving you the best chance of passing your exams first time. You’ll even have the flexibility to study at your own pace through online learning packages. KPMG are unique in offering you a choice of training programmes so that you can match your personal learning style to the most appropriate available programme.
