Fiona’s Story of Growth, Confidence and Opportunity

When Fiona joined KPMG’s Advisory practice in Glasgow, she brought nearly two decades of experience in corporate finance and restructuring from London, Aberdeen, Dubai and the Scottish mid‑market. At KPMG, she now guides privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses through important moments of change - from exploring strategic options to supporting the full deal cycle. For Fiona, joining KPMG meant taking on meaningful work within a team that genuinely values experience and encourages growth. “I wanted to do work I enjoy, in an environment that respects what you bring,” she shares. 

From her first day, Fiona found the balance of autonomy and support she’d been looking for. Being part of a team with strong female leadership has been both motivating and inspiring: “Seeing other women step into senior roles is incredibly powerful” she says. She also supports initiatives such as Scale‑up Scotland, reflecting her commitment to fostering growth across the region.   

Alongside her client work, Fiona plays a key role in shaping the team’s learning culture - hosting practical Lunch & Learn sessions, leading open commercial discussions, and acting as a sector specialist in offshore energy services. With KPMG’s support, she has helped build a team environment that is inclusive, open, and focused on growth. 

For Fiona, making the difference is all about continuous learning and staying curious. “Even after 18 years in advisory, I still learn something new on every project,” she reflects. “That’s the beauty of being here - you’re surrounded by people who challenge you, support you, and help you become better every day.”
