View more people stories Explore Deal Advisory opportunitiesWhen Gregor joined KPMG, he brought a unique blend of experiences - a master's in physics, time in the defence sector, and involvement in early-stage startups. He wanted a career where he could use his analytical mindset to help organizations understand complex challenges. “I’ve always enjoyed getting to the heart of how things work,” he says. “Consulting felt like the place where I could do that every day.”
At KPMG, Gregor now works across a mix of public and corporate environments, helping teams make more informed decisions through clear analysis and structured thinking. What motivates him most is seeing his work contribute to improvements that matter to people and communities. “For me, it’s incredibly rewarding when good thinking helps things run better for everyone,” he reflects. He especially values the variety that consulting offers, giving him opportunities to apply his problem‑solving skills in new contexts.
Alongside his project work, Gregor is committed to continual growth. With the firm’s support, he completed the CIMA qualification, something he studied alongside his consulting responsibilities. “The theoretical grounding completely changed how I look at business,” he shares. He also balances his consulting career with serving in the Army Reserves, supported by KPMG’s Armed Forces Covenant. The firm provides additional paid leave for annual training and a strong internal community for reservists. “It’s a privilege to continue my service,” he says. “KPMG makes it possible to do that alongside a fulfilling career.”
What stands out most to Gregor is the culture around him. He talks about leaders who check in proactively, colleagues who are always willing to help, and an environment where people genuinely look out for one another. “My director is incredibly tuned into people and their needs,” he says. “It makes a huge difference when someone reminds you to rest.” For Gregor, Making the Difference is all about bringing curiosity, purpose and respect into every task. “If you enjoy solving problems and you’re open to learning,” he reflects, “this is the place where you’ll grow - and where people will support you every step of the way.”
