At KPMG, she found a space to focus on sustainability and infrastructure, shaping work that balances environmental goals with real-world delivery. “I’ve always loved bringing ideas to life,” she says. “KPMG gave me the freedom to channel that energy into sustainability where the impact truly matters.
Today, Janet focuses on weaving sustainability and responsible decision‑making into major infrastructure planning. Her work brings together environmental considerations like carbon, land use, and biodiversity to help organisations think about long‑term impact from the very start. She is especially passionate about the influence thoughtful design can have on people and places. “When we build with care, the benefits last for generations,” she says. “What we choose to prioritise now shapes the world we leave behind.”
Alongside her sustainability work, Janet is committed to personal development and supporting others. KPMG provided thoughtful guidance as she went through her neurodiversity assessment, ensuring she had the adjustments she needed to thrive. She was also encouraged by colleagues to accept a nomination at the Management Consultancy Awards - where she won both her category and the overall award. “I never would have nominated myself,” she says. “KPMG believed in me, and that support gave me the confidence to grow.”
For Janet, Making the Difference is about how people show up, the behavior they model and the impact their actions have on others. She believes the smallest choices can create powerful ripple effects. “Behavior is infectious,” she reflects. “Every decision - how you listen, how you treat people, how you hold your values - shape the world around you. I feel fortunate to work on things that matter, with people who care.”
