When Lisa joined KPMG Law as a Partner, she came up with a clear ambition: to build and lead a new regulatory law team within the firm’s growing legal practice. With a background in competition law and years spent navigating highly regulated sectors such as water and energy, she saw KPMG as a place where she could bring her experience into a broader, more dynamic environment. “I wanted to create something new,” she says. “KPMG offered the space to shape a regulatory practice in a way that felt modern, agile and collaborative.”

In her role at KPMG Law, Lisa leads a regulatory practice that brings together lawyers with different specialisms and viewpoints, creating solutions that blend legal expertise with broader business  understanding. She appreciates working in an environment where collaboration across disciplines is the norm, not the exception - something that sets KPMG apart from many traditional legal settings. Being surrounded by people who think differently pushes you to grow in the best possible way,” she says. “It challenges you to look beyond the usual legal lens and build something more innovative and forward‑looking.”

Beyond leading her practice, Lisa is a strong advocate for social mobility and widening access to the legal profession. She champions alternative entry routes, mentors early‑career lawyers and celebrates the progress of solicitor apprentices who bring fresh perspectives into the team. Her own background inspires this commitment, and KPMG’s openness to diverse pathways reinforces it. It’s exciting to see talent come from places the industry has overlooked for too long,” she says. “KPMG genuinely backs people to grow, no matter their route in - and that makes this place special.”

For Lisa, making the Difference is about leadership rooted in people - building trust, supporting growth and nurturing teams through both opportunity and challenge. She leads, for example, working closely with colleagues and modelling the behaviors she values most. Strong relationships are everything,” she reflects.

“If you show up, share the load and help people be their best, the impact is enormous - that’s how you make the difference.”
