When Mythrayi joined KPMG in September 2000, she began her career in the Corporate Tax Advisory and Compliance team. Early in her journey, the industry experienced major changes, which encouraged her to explore different areas of the firm through various secondments, including roles in tax investigations, deals, and a client assignment with O2. During this time, she discovered her interest in transactions and later moved into the Deal Advisory Tax team, where she continued to grow and took on opportunities in Amsterdam and New York. Her career path shifted again when she took a six year break to focus on her health and motherhood while living abroad. “I’ve had chapters in my career I never planned for,” she reflects, “but each one shaped who I am today.

When she moved back to the UK in 2012, and returned to KPMG in July 2013, Mythrayi re-joined the Firm at a time when returning mothers in senior roles were rare. She rebuilt her career step-by-step, moving into Financial Services which was completely new to her and re-immersing herself in the world of deals, now with a focus on Infrastructure.

Mythrayi became a Partner in 2019 and led the national DAT practice (2021-2025) - both proud moments in her career. Today, she is the Growth Lead for Financial Services in Tax & Legal, shaping client relationships and driving the business forward. “Coming back wasn’t straightforward,” she says, “but KPMG gave me the support to prove myself again, and that belief drove me forward.”

As a leader at KPMG, Mythrayi is passionate about mentoring, championing diversity, and creating space for colleagues to learn from one another. She emphasises the importance of being present - supporting juniors in real time and helping them grow into confident professionals. “The best part of my job is watching people flourish,” she shares. “When you invest in others, you build teams that lift each other up - that’s the essence of KPMG’s culture.”

For Mythrayi, making the difference is about using her voice and presence to open doors for others - especially women and people who may not have seen leaders who look like them. Her own journey shapes the way she shows up today: visible, honest and unafraid to ask the questions that create change. “If my being in the room makes someone else feel they can be there too, that’s making the difference,” she says. “Real impact comes from showing others what’s possible and helping them believe in their own path.”
