Role Overview and Purpose

KPMG’s Defence and National Security Consulting practice is a market leading team within the UK consulting market. We advise government and industry clients on their largest, most complex, and highest profile strategic issues. Our team combines deep sector insight, expert consulting capabilities and trusted client relationships to design and implement solutions that span all aspects of our clients’ operations.

Defence and National Security is a KPMG priority sector. That means we are a fast-growing team which presents exciting opportunities for a Manager to lead impactful projects, drive our ambitious growth agenda and seek career progression.

We are looking for a Manager who possesses high quality consulting skills and a record of delivering outstanding results when leading complex consulting projects focused on challenges such as: business or operating model change; strategy development; strategic cost reduction and cost management; and investment decision support. The nature of projects we deliver is highly varied, which means we need our managers to demonstrate an ability to continually adapt and grow their skills and knowledge. Strong candidates will also demonstrate a firm understanding of the challenges faced by the Defence and National Security sector. 

 

We help financial services organisations – Banks, Insurance companies, FMIs, Wealth and Asset managers and Fintechs – to change and adapt to the environment in which they operate.  Changes may be driven by decisions to digitise, to streamline, to pivot, to respond to new regulation or to harness the benefits of analytics or new technology.   Or they may be driven by acquisition or disposal.  Whatever the reason, our clients are continually re-designing parts of the organisation, and that’s where we come in.   We are looking for experienced consultants who can lead Change and Organisation Design workstreams on complex, business critical programmes.  We expect the consultant to be able to scope, price and design our approach for a particular client (with support from a Partner or Director), and then to lead delivery of this work, including managing teams of more junior consultants.   Many of our projects are multi-disciplinary, and you will be expected to work and collaborate with colleagues from other service lines such as technology, finance, customer or analytics.    We expect the successful applicant to have the following technical skills
