• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
• As this sector is known to lack diversity, KPMG is dedicated to considering diverse profiles for this role.

The Role:

KPMG Law is seeking an experienced corporate lawyer to join its expanding team, based in Bristol or Reading.

The successful candidate will have broad experience across M&A, corporate structuring and international business reorganisations, equity investments, joint ventures and equity incentive arrangements.
The role will involve:

• providing corporate legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning establishing corporate structuring and reorganisations, M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and equity incentive arrangements, in each case, domestically and cross border
• providing multidisciplinary client-focused solutions, and building and maintaing relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to deliver them
• leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects in the UK and internationally
• project managing and driving projects to conclusion
• training and mentoring more junior team members

Experience Required

It is expected that the successful applicant will be an English-qualified solicitor with good experience, gained in the UK at a reputable firm (but applicants with other suitable experience will also be considered).

• Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate experience on transactions, and the ability to supervise and develop more junior members of the team. Strong project management skills are a must.
• Be able to demonstrate good experience of coordinating the provision of advice and the production of complex and interrelated legal agreements and documentation by advisers in multiple jurisdictions. While consulting appropriately on difficult issues, they must be able to deliver robust and appropriate legal advice and exercise sound judgement.
• Significant experience of working with demanding clients across a wide spectrum of scale and sectors and be expert at service delivery.
• They must be able to demonstrate sound client relationship and business development skills, and a desire to develop these skills further.

The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility for servicing and building the team. They will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events and giving internal and external presentations.
