About this team

The Global Insurance Management Team (“GIMT”) is responsible for the management, oversight and coordination of KPMG's Global Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and First Party Cyber Insurance Programs providing business critical insurance to approximately 145 member firms within the KPMG network. The GIMT acts as a principal point of contact between insurers/brokers and KPMG Member Firms, providing guidance to KPMG Member Firms on matters pertaining to the Global PII and Cyber insurance programs and is involved in the development and procurement of other insurance placements for KPMG International.

Role summary

KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Insurance Manager to join our Global Insurance Management Team (“GIMT”) experienced in the field of financial lines insurance particularly Professional Indemnity Insurance (“PII”) and Cyber Insurance. The individual will work closely with other GIMT team members and be responsible for providing technical insurance support in respect of KPMG's Global PII and Cyber Insurance Programs and in support of ongoing business change initiatives. The individual will interface directly with a range of internal and external stakeholders including KPMGI Senior Leadership, KPMG Member Firm Senior Partners, Risk Management Partners, General Counsels, insurers (including captive insurers) and brokers.

The role will focus on providing technical support and guidance relating to all aspects of insurance program management including program design and implementation, policy wording reviews, coverage analysis, insurance support for business change initiatives and issues associated with global insurance programs including insurance regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of matters, including being involved in the processes for approving KPMG’s new services and products, assisting with general commercial queries, drafting software licences, supporting our deals teams and providing contract support for KPMG’s engagement teams. 

The Ethics and Independence (E&I) team are part of the Quality and Risk Management Risk Operations Group which is responsible for monitoring the firm’s and its individuals’ compliance with the firm’s professional risk management and quality control policies, procedures and guidance. Furthermore, the Group work with the wider Quality and Risk community and across the KPMG network to exchange knowledge, develop and improve processes and procedures in response to emerging regulatory, business and other requirements.

Within the Risk Operations Group there are four teams who have responsibility for Partner and colleague independence. These teams are responsible for communicating UK policy, process and guidance on Ethics & Independence (firm and personal) and providing guidance and advice to partners and colleagues on ethics & Independence matters.

The Commercial Management team exists to grow the Firm’s ability to build long term commercially resilient and profitable relationships with clients. This is achieved by leveraging our in-depth understanding of major clients bid processes and providing advice on positioning fees, tender responses, sometimes facilitating negotiations and working with client procurement teams.
