KPMG Law is seeking a junior corporate lawyer to join its expanding team in London to focus on legal solutions for a range of clients.

The Team
KPMG Law is a disrupter in the legal services industry offering legal advisory services combined with new law and technology driven offerings and multi-disciplinary solutions. The successful candidate will have experience in company law for example, M&A, equity investments and joint ventures, equity incentive arrangements and corporate reorganisations gained at a city practice and be:

• an entrepreneurial self-starter who is excited by the opportunity to provide multi-disciplinary legal services in a different environment and manner while delivering a great service to clients

• able to understand the legal solution within the wider picture and who is keen to become a more rounded business adviser

• a driven and proactive team player who enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and disciplines

• a good technical lawyer with a developing knowledge of the Companies Act

The role will involve:

• providing corporate legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning corporate reorganisations such as post-acquisition integration and legal entity rationalisation

• building relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to develop and provide multi-disciplinary solutions

• project managing projects to conclusion

It is expected that the successful applicant will be an English-qualified solicitor, with a minimum of 1 year PQE experience, gained in the UK at a reputable firm (but applicants with other suitable experience will also be considered). Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.

This role involves working on a range of projects with a client base in the Financial Services sector.

The work involves:

Providing technical transfer pricing advice to our Financial Services clients on a broad range of topics
Developing and maintaining client relationships including acting as the main point of contact for clients and relevant stakeholders
Managing various projects across multiple jurisdictions and leading the day-to-day delivery processes
Coordinating with KPMG's transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax and advisory teams on a range of topics
Financial management, including developing and managing project budgets and billing to ensure profitable delivery of client engagements
Coaching and developing junior team members which will also include delivering training sessions and providing on-the-job coaching on a regular basis
Ensuring timely reporting to senior management
Actively contributing to identifying new opportunities and managing business development and marketing initiatives along with proposition and market leads

The Person

We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:

Either a CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or attained a Bachelors or Masters degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or equivalent qualification.
At least 5 years of transfer pricing experience, preferably including experience of transfer pricing advisory projects, preparing transfer pricing documentation, tax value chain analyses, benchmarking, supporting with tax authority enquiries/Advance Pricing Agreements, project management and managing junior team members
Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others.
Strong analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
Strong commercial awareness
Keen ability and willingness to keep up to date technically and develop the technical ability of the team below you.
Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative as appropriate
An appreciation of and/or understanding of ethical/risk issues within a client service environment
Very strong people skills for engaging with our clients and team members
Highly organised with excellent communication and project management skills
Experience of the Financial Services industry is highly desirable

What will you be doing?

This role involves working on a range of projects.

The work involves:

· Lead global transfer pricing compliance projects where we prepare transfer pricing local files, master files and TP returns for clients across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves leading on a range of compliance projects across a varied client base in both size of business and industry.

· Developing and maintaining client relationships for global transfer pricing compliance projects

· Project management in relation to the provision of our services

· Performing/attending functional interviews with clients to understand activities and value drivers for our clients’ businesses to prepare transfer pricing analyses

· Determining key industry features across varied industries that influence the pricing of transactions and preparing transfer pricing analyses

· Prepare/review benchmarking analyses across industries and transaction types (TNMM and CUP)

· Understand and implement KPMG’s transfer pricing technology for preparation of local files

· Review transfer pricing local files using KPMG’s transfer pricing technology

· Supporting clients with tax authority enquiries
