The KPMG Alternatives team provides high-quality and impactful tax advisory and compliance services to the Alternative Investment Fund sector. This includes private equity, hedge funds, credit funds and real estate funds.

The Powered Apps teams are communities of technology focussed professionals who work together to deliver SaaS ERP based transformation programmes based on KPMG Powered Enterprise. The teams use their functional knowledge and experience (e.g., Finance, HR, Procurement), coupled with their expertise in the cloud applications (e.g. Oracle, Workday, Coupa) to lead and deliver client programmes, to support pre-sales activities and to develop improvement and extensions to the Powered Enterprise model. The Enterprise Architect will play a pivotal role in aligning the firm's business strategy with its technology strategy within Enterprise Digital Workplace and AI domains. This role will involve translating business strategies into equivalent technology strategies, challenging the business strategies based on emerging and future technology trends, help business design and govern their technology roadmap, i.e. a portfolio of technology transformation projects that deliver the business and technology strategies; influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt the right technology solutions; and escalate risks, issues and critical dependencies to the appropriate leaders as required to ensure the successful delivery of the strategy.

You will be working on a range of projects in the water and energy network sectors. Your work will focus on cost assessment.

Our clients seek expert advice relating to cost and performance benchmarking. There is no ‘typical project’. You will need to apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles, while having the capacity to think creatively.

Our approach to benchmarking can involve econometric models comparing costs across companies. We also support clients through cost benefit analysis and other benchmarking approaches, such as unit cost models.

The projects that you will advise on will be high profile and varied. For example, in recent years we have advised nearly every water and energy network company on their price control reviews, been the lead advisor on several CMA appeals, and advised on major transactions within the sectors. We have the skills and capabilities to be involved in every major development within the sector.

The work will include a combination of report drafting, data collection/verification, economic analysis, econometric analysis, and engaging with clients.

You will also take a key role in developing the skills of more junior staff.

The team offer deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems, governance, valuation and accounting.
