As an Audit Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of leading and delivering audit engagements, from planning through to completion on a broad spectrum of clients. The role will include executive level client interaction and exposure to multiple clients on an annual basis, as well as daily tasks such as:

Responding to and implementing changes recommended by a regulator as directed by senior team members on engagement teams
Promoting a collaborative culture encouraging constructive working relationships within the audit team, with specialists and across different team(s).

Quality

Planning and execution of audit fieldwork and statutory reporting across a portfolio of engagements
Project management of all aspects of audit including agreeing audit timelines, team briefings, and supervision and delivery of audit work
Identifying, researching and helping to resolve complex audit issues
Preparing engagement deliverables, building relationships with the audited entity staff and acting as an ambassador for the firm

Portfolio and Finance

Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of projects, focusing on optimising profitability
Working on audit tenders and working as part of the relevant independence team on these tenders. Tasks may include reviewing global engagement records in Sentinel; analysing and categorising the records; contacting partners globally for engagement information; preparing data and drafting Independence reports; and liaising with the UK Ethics and Independence team
You may also have the opportunity to work on specific audit related projects across the audit function
Actively participating with the audit partner/ director in the optimisation and rationalisation of our portfolio of audited entities e.g. through achieving exits or pricing / profitability targets

People

Leading a field work team including supervising and coaching more junior members of staff to help them reach their full potential
Keeping up to date with technical developments in audit quality, audit and accounting standards, and comply with latest quality directives

What will you be doing?

This role involves working on a range of projects.

The work involves:

· Lead global transfer pricing compliance projects where we prepare transfer pricing local files, master files and TP returns for clients across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves leading on a range of compliance projects across a varied client base in both size of business and industry.

· Developing and maintaining client relationships for global transfer pricing compliance projects

· Project management in relation to the provision of our services

· Performing/attending functional interviews with clients to understand activities and value drivers for our clients’ businesses to prepare transfer pricing analyses

· Determining key industry features across varied industries that influence the pricing of transactions and preparing transfer pricing analyses

· Prepare/review benchmarking analyses across industries and transaction types (TNMM and CUP)

· Reviewing and documenting transfer pricing policies

· Understand and implement KPMG’s transfer pricing technology for preparation of local files

· Review transfer pricing local files using KPMG’s transfer pricing technology

· Supporting clients with tax authority enquiries

· Coordinating with KPMG’s transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax and other teams across the business and across multiple jurisdictions on a range of topics relating to transfer pricing compliance

· Coaching and developing junior members of the team

· As part of the TP Compliance team actively contribute to leadership discussions and help to implement continuous improvement to processes within the team.

· Lead or assist with business development and project scoping process as necessary for new global transfer pricing documentation proposals including preparing scope and fee quotes and presenting in client pitches/demos.

A key focus for KPMG’s GCT team is to help multinational groups and financial services clients manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology. The Tax Technical team is a critical enabler to all tax activities within GCT and provides expertise into KPMG’s complex tax audits. Audit quality is of paramount importance and to do this efficiently, we maintain a dedicated and enthusiastic team of tax specialists. We are also the engine room of the tax reporting, compliance, governance and low-level advisory work undertaken by the wider GCT team – servicing large domestic compliance clients as well as our Global Compliance clients.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Builds and develops positive constructive relationships inside and outside KPMG;
Manages tax technical input on a mix of listed and non-listed multinational groups including involvement in the audit of tax in financial statements;
Supporting clients with their group/statutory Tax Reporting needs;
Provide advice to clients on GAAP conversion projects;
Provide technical input to tax accounting project work;
Manage the delivery of corporate tax compliance engagements and helping to lead compliance outsourcing contracts;
Provide advice to clients on the tax and tax accounting implications of new legislation;
Responding to client requests for ad hoc technical advice;
Supporting on sales activities by working with more senior members of the team to generate additional work opportunities for both existing clients and targets; supporting proposals and propositions across functions, sectors and accounts;
Coaching, career management and technical support for other team members;
Follow KPMG best practice and policy;

Knowledge and Experience:

Strong working knowledge and experience of corporate tax legislation and its application;
Knowledge of tax accounting is an advantage but not essential
Demonstrates curiosity and open mindedness to new ideas approaches and perspectives;
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills;
