Description of the role:   

We are seeking a Manager with experience in large scale People Centric Transformations who will bring experience, insight, and energy to drive complex solutions for our clients.

We are specifically looking for an individual who has experience in learning solutions, learning op model, skills and capability analysis and strategy build, future strategic workforce planning, and an understanding of AI solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience of learning consulting with large, complex clients.

We are looking for a candidate who wants to grow their leadership experience and practice at KPMG, who is also passionate about developing their team members and expanding their knowledge of emerging learning and capability solutions.

Role dimensions: 

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Work closely with FTSE 100 clients primarily across a diverse set of corporate clients, for example Energy, FMCG, Telco, Pharma, Life Sciences, and Media
  • Lead learning and workforce projects and workstreams with a small team of consultants, to drive business change, integrating across large multi-disciplinary programme teams and providing direction and knowledge on the learning and workforce side of the solution/ implementation
  • Build and manage existing relationships with clients, and support in generating new client opportunities
  • Take a lead role in continuing to innovate our learning and workforce tools and assets
  • Take a lead in knowledge sharing and developing skills internally across our team

Role and responsibilities:

You will help the team with the following service offerings:
(i) Early legal and technical input into potential disputes with HMRC.
(ii) Reviewing a variety of ideas and situations and appraising for litigation risk.
(iii) Litigation in the Tax Tribunals, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and ECJ

This will include:

(i) First drafts of pleadings such as notices of appeal and witness statements.
(ii) First draft correspondence, advice and reports.
(iii) Legal research.
(iv) Case management of ‘group litigation’ cases.
(v) Preparing for hearing including preparing bundles of documents and authorities.
(vi) Instructions to Counsel, attending Conferences and preparing settled notes.
(vii) General litigation support.
(viii) Delegation to junior team members.


Education and qualifications:

The applicant will be a tax litigation lawyer with experience in litigation and/or tax dealing with commercial clients.In addition, a successful applicant will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on tax technical matters and be keen to continue developing his/her legal skills and engage in new areas of work.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate his/her ability to build relationships with across KPMG or with clients
