Role summary

The purpose of the Information Security Automation Specialist role is to ensure sound delivery of technical projects, systems, and services for the GSOC. The Information Security Automation Specialist will be responsible for customization, maintenance and support of various security monitoring platforms and provide a mixture of project delivery, system integration, maintenance, and support around the GSOC platforms including Microsoft Azure Sentinel and Microsoft Defender security suite. This role will be part of a team working in a fast-paced environment driving performance, reliability and supporting the GSOC tools and infrastructure hosted on Physical and Cloud platforms delivering SOC services. The successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, experience in integrating technology platforms, strong communication skills and a desire to tackle the complex problems of scale which are unique to a SOC environment. We will consider a candidate that has the core technical skills and wants to move into a security role. • Adhere to strict Service Level Agreements for fault resolutions and service requests completions • Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends • Deliver excellent customer service • Ensure leadership are aware of all issues • Identify, liaise, and manage any escalated faults with 3rd party suppliers for major incidents, network improvements or correction of recurring problems • Ensure work is completed in such a way that complies with established compliance and other internal control requirements • Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

The KPMG financial services tax team is a fast-growing part of the KPMG tax practice. We are looking for

The Responsibilities: The role involves a mixture of both compliance and advisory responsibilities, with specific duties including:

  • Developing and maintaining a high level of technical knowledge across operational taxes and related

areas.

  • Supporting the management of client relationships and projects and becoming a focal point of contact

for clients within operational taxes.

  • Understanding our client's business and working with teams across KPMG to identify areas for the

provision of operational tax and other services.

  • Developing and advising on cutting edge client propositions.
  • Being involved in business development and proposal activity.
  • Collaborating with KPMG teams across the UK and globally to provide the highest quality operational

tax support to our clients.

  • Participating in the development of new client propositions, which will include working with technology

teams to develop new solutions, taking these to market and building the delivery model to ensure

the highest quality services are provided.

  • Being an advocate for KPMG and the operational taxes team and helping us grow the business

through the delivery of relevant and high-quality services to our clients.


The Person:  

The successful candidates are likely to have some or all of the following skills:

 

  • Evidence of deep technical ability relating to tax or financial services – e.g., this might be a

qualification in tax, audit, finance, law, regulation or significant practical experience gained in an

industry role.

  • Practical experience of dealing with operational taxes within a Financial Services context –

  • Build and develop positive constructive relationships within your team and across your client base.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • UK Corporation Tax experience including reviewing computations and returns and acting as a client liaison through the compliance process.
  • Experience/awareness of specific technical areas including complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension scheme and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups; controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and demonstrate curiosity around new ideas approaches and perspectives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
  • Sustain a high level of drive, enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team.
