We are looking for a Director to lead our Commercial Projects business focussed on the NHS. The team sits at the cross section of KPMG leading healthcare advisory business, and its Deal Advisory capability. The Director will focus on the market need for NHS organisations at all levels to increase their commercial focus and organisation in areas such as generating additional income, accessing additional capacity through deals with the independent sector or utilising their asset base better. This may include advice around partnerships, joint ventures, group structures and significant contracts. The Director will lead a team covering a breadth of services in these areas ranging from opportunity identification, business case processes, commercial and financial advisory services to resulting ventures.

KPMG’s Debt Advisory practice has a c.25 year history advising public and private clients on developing and executing debt financing strategies. The team’s typical clients include listed companies, medium to large privately owned businesses and private equity / sponsor-backed entities. Its experience spans the spectrum of debt markets, financing instruments, asset classes, sectors and situations (including M&A, investment, new debt issues, refinancing and restructuring / amendments to debt facilities). We are looking for a skilled and proactive Data Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake. This role requires hands-on experience in building and optimising data pipelines and notebooks, transforming large datasets, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and helping shape our modern data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and notebooks using Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and optimise complex data transformation and ingestion logic to support enterprise-level reporting and analytics.
• Leverage Delta Lake architecture to support both batch and streaming data processes.
• Develop high-quality, reusable code in Python and PySpark, following best practices and ensuring maintainability.
• Create insightful, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Use Git and Azure DevOps (ADO) for version control and deployment workflows.
• Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems.
• Advocate for best practices in data governance, data quality, and documentation.
