The Role

 

Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Corporate and Financial investors.  Whilst we have teams focused on clients in four key markets Corporates; Private Equity & Credit; Real Estate and Energy & Infrastructure, we are a national and connected team, working and learning with each other.

  • Corporates:  We work alongside some of the most forward-thinking FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, as well as Corporates across the UK, supporting them with strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures both in the UK and cross-border. Our corporates business is a multi-sector business, including Consumer, Life sciences, TMT, Industrials, ENR and Banking & Insurance. 
  • Asset Management:  We work with Private Equity, Infrastructure, Renewable/ Energy transition, and Real Estate Funds, both large and mid-cap, as well as institutional investors such as Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds.  Our clients have UK, European and Global investment strategies and will often have teams across multiple asset classes which allows our

KPMG’s FS Corporate Tax team has an immediate need for a Manager to support delivery of a range of engagements across corporate tax, help us manage our existing portfolio of clients and help us win additional work in the Financial Services marketplace.

The work required by the role would be varied and dynamic and requires a decent level of UK corporate tax knowledge and experience. The role will also require the candidate to be able to work as part of a team both with more senior and more junior staff.

The KPMG FS Corporate Tax Team has a strong market reputation working with leading Global and UK banks, insurers and asset managers on a range of tax services. There is a strong pipeline of project and advisory work. Our team is friendly and supportive with staff members based around the country. The team are used to working with each other remotely for much of the time and therefore we are open to applicants based anywhere in the UK.


The Role

•    The role would involve working on corporate tax advisory engagements for financial services clients
•    Delivery of tax advice, including potentially Pillar Two advisory work
•    If a candidate has an interest in compliance the role could also involve managing and reviewing tax compliance

•    The role will involve interacting with clients directly and managing client relationships and commercial arrangements
•    Potentially providing tax audit support on our financial services audited entities

The Person
 
•    Ideally the candidate would have knowledge and experience of financial services (Banking, insurance, asset management or more broadly) however that is not essential, and we would consider suitably qualified candidates who do not have financial services experience as training can be given as needed.

•    Client and Relationship Management: Developing and leading relationships across a portfolio of clients is crucial. This involves managing client work effectively, maintaining good financial discipline, and proactively identifying areas for additional services.

KDN Advisory has invested significantly in the development of our Powered Enterprise suite of solutions and is continuing to expand its solution-based service offerings. However, our ability to scale our delivery capability to seize Powered and other solutions opportunities is limited. In response, as part of the firm’s Global Collective Priorities. This position is a key member of the KDN Advisory OpCo leadership team and will achieve operational excellence within the KDN organisation, both globally and regionally. This role will establish credibility with key Member Firm leaders, regional and global stakeholders to drive KDN adoption.

 

As the KDN Advisory lead point of contact for the region, the position will design and implement strategies to support growth of Powered Enterprise and other global solutions by actively reviewing sales opportunities and maintaining quality of services delivered. Working with a mixture of UK-based and India-based data engineers and data analysts, you will play a key role in designing and implementing analytic solutions for both internal and external clients. 

 

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow and London. Regular travel to Glasgow or London will be required once travel conditions permit this. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

 

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.
