The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
• As this sector is known to lack diversity, KPMG is dedicated to considering diverse profiles for this role.

 

• Extensive experience in prominent languages such as Python, Scala, Spark, SQL.
• Experience working with any database technologies from an application programming perspective - Oracle, MySQL, Mongo DB etc.
• Experience with the design, build and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure
• Robust understanding of design practices and system architecture and with a focus on data security
• Extensive experience of defining code review standards to drive quality
• Excellent problem solving skills with experience of troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues
• Experience working with cloud platforms and in particular architecting with native cloud resources relevant to data problems
• Extensive experience driving and leading Agile methodologies (Scrum, pair-programming etc)
• Have the ability to work in a cross functional team of Business Analysts and demonstrating an excellent understanding of business requirements.
• Strong communication skills along with ability to lead a team towards a great product/service and articulate technical strategies to non-technical audiences including clients at all levels including C-suite

Tax Valuations Senior Manager KPMG’s Tax Valuation Services (“TVS”) works with a broad spectrum of clients, from high net-worth individuals to large blue-chip corporates, in establishing the tax market value of shares, intangible assets and other business assets, using an array of valuation methodologies and techniques. Internally, the team works closely with KPMG’s Reward and Transfer Pricing teams, as well as providing support on M&A engagements.  To support the ambitious growth plans of the TVS team, KPMG are seeking to recruit a Senior Manager to support a growing team and clients on valuation technical tax valuation matters.
