We are looking for talented and driven Equity Reward specialists to work in our team and who are excited by the opportunity to be a key part of an exciting growth journey.   Clients will range from working with a diverse range of privately owned business (ranging from owner-managed to private equity), as well as listed businesses.  The successful applicant will want to be involved in business development activities, including client proposals, internal and external presentations and writing material on technical and other matters. Our Transaction Services practice comprises approximately 500 people across the UK, organised to align to KPMG’s market orientated structure, and is at the heart of the Firm's agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle. Our team works closely with colleagues across Deal Advisory as well as Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our One Firm agenda. We are recruiting Managers in our Private Equity, Financial Services, Corporates and Capital Markets teams across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.

Overview

This exciting role is within our London Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf office. 

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors. 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time. 

The role

• Working closely with Partners, Directors and/or Senior Managers on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service

• Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, critically analysing and challenging their input to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
• Managing teams and coaching and developing junior members of staff both in respect of technical delivery and soft skills
• Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
• Being a role model for KPMG’s values

The person

• Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent

• UK corporation tax experience

Power & Utilities (P&U) is the largest business area of the IAG and encompasses work for major clients in the sector, including all UK utilities as well as some of the largest energy and water companies in Europe and beyond. We provide in-depth strategic and technical advice on strategy and business planning and analysis, corporate finance and corporate financial management, regulatory policy, cost assessment and benchmarking as well as in other areas to help our clients create value for both shareholders and customers. Our work combines elements of policy, finance, strategy and economics to assist our clients in structuring investments, securing financing, supporting regulatory regimes for the benefit of customers as well as maximising shareholder value. We are widely recognised by many industry stakeholders as market leaders influencing the future of the utilities sector.

This area continues to grow and we are looking for a high quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities business with a particular focus on giving strategic advice to clients in relation to the evolving regulation and policy framework affecting the energy networks.

As a Director you would provide senior leadership to the team, working closely with other Directors and Partners in IAG P&U as part of a ‘one team’ culture.  You would have particular responsibility for building our competition finance practice, leading projects related to competition economics, profitability and regulatory reporting.
