The Role:

KPMG Law is seeking an experienced mid level corporate lawyer to join its growing Northern team, based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have broad corporate experience across M&A, equity investments, and corporate reorganisations.

The role will involve:

• providing corporate legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning establishing corporate structuring and reorganisations, M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and equity incentive arrangements, in each case, on a domestic and cross border basis
• building relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to develop and provide multi-disciplinary solutions
• leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects in the UK and internationally
• project managing and driving projects to conclusion
• training and mentoring more junior team members

Experience Required

It is expected that the successful applicant will be an English-qualified solicitor with solid experience, gained in the UK at a reputable firm (but applicants with other suitable experience will also be considered).

• Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate his/her/their experience on transactions, and ability to supervise and develop more junior members of the team. Strong project management skills are a must.
• Be able to demonstrate good experience of coordinating the provision of advice and the production of complex and interrelated legal agreements and documentation by advisers in multiple jurisdictions. While consulting appropriately on difficult issues, he/she/they must be able to deliver robust and appropriate legal advice and exercise sound judgement.
• Significant experience of working with demanding clients across a wide spectrum of scale and sectors and be expert at service delivery.
• He/she/they must be able to demonstrate sound client relationship and business development skills, and a desire to develop these skills further.

The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility for servicing and continuing to build the team. He/she/they will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events and giving internal and external presentations.

KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Associate Director role.  The role will focus on Deal Strategy within the Media industry as part of the wider Telecommunications-Media-Technology sector, but with scope to work on the wider range of services including Growth Strategy, Deal Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation.

Our team advises infrastructure owners in both the public and private sector, including government with their most complex challenges. Our team leads exciting projects across both public and private sectors principally focused on major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Transport, Energy, Water, Defence, Oil and Gas and Health. • Asset Strategy and Transformation, including operating model design and transformation of asset management functions.

• Thorough understanding of immigration concepts and issues and pro-actively research current immigration developments
• Previous experience working at Manager level within Global Immigration
• Experience of managing small teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff
• Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy and strong IT skills including very good MS Office (Word, Excel and Power Point
