Tax and Legal Technology Team

We are a team of 100+ technologists providing technology enablement services and solutions across the Tax and Legal business. This business has 4,000 tax & legal professionals covering multiple disciplines. We serve many thousands of clients and private individuals by providing a modern, market-leading suite of technology solutions that provide an efficient digital experience from routine to complex tax advice depending on client’s situation.

The team is made up of Product Owners, Business Analysts, multi-disciplinary Engineering teams (approximate 150 Software, QA and Cloud Operations engineers) and IT Service delivery professionals working on a large portfolio of systems used to improve productivity and solve key business problems across Tax & Legal. We also build cutting edge web portals for clients to interact with KPMG, maximising collaboration and ensuring seamless delivery of information to our clients.

The Role:

You will be working in a small team of Software Engineers and Quality Assurance Engineers across a variety of projects for both our clients and our internal professionals. You will be responsible both for the development and delivery of software solutions. Your team will work alongside a Product Owner who will help prioritise deliverables allowing you to focus on creating world-class solutions.

The role can be based anywhere in the UK, though preference will be given to candidates in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and London. We generally spend two days per week in the office. Remote or part-time workers are welcome to apply.

Whilst there is no expectation of existing knowledge of tax, we would expect you to develop a degree of domain knowledge over time.

KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Associate Director role.  The role will focus on Deal Strategy within the Media industry as part of the wider Telecommunications-Media-Technology sector, but with scope to work on the wider range of services including Growth Strategy, Deal Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation.

Power & Utilities (P&U) is one of the largest business areas of the IAG and encompasses work for major clients in the sector, including all energy and water utilities as well as some of the largest companies in Europe and beyond. We provide in-depth strategic and technical advice on corporate finance and corporate financial management, regulatory finance, regulatory policy, business and financial planning, cost assessment and benchmarking as well as in other areas directly affecting value. As Digital Lead of the Create Digital Team, you will collaborate with the Design and Operations Managers to support and consult on creative digital solutions. With a passion for new technologies, functional digital design, and a strong UX/UI and prototyping background, you'll lead the UK and India teams in delivering exceptional user experiences for KPMG.

Focused on understanding user needs and behaviors, you’ll inform product strategy and design while ensuring high-quality, user-first outcomes. You will work closely with the KGS digital team to ensure a seamless design and development process, holding the team accountable for quality and timely delivery. Strong relationship-building with UK business leaders and cross-location mentoring is essential for delivering top-tier digital services. The role requires the ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism. 

This exciting role is within our Corporate Tax Team based in the Manchester office (other locations considered). As part of a high performing team you will work with a diverse portfolio of large clients across UK listed, PE-backed, inbound and family-owned groups, and take on a variety of projects, tax structuring and international expansion.
