We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Asset Management Advisory (AMA) team, part of the KPMG Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG). Our team advises infrastructure owners in both the public and private sector, including government with their most complex challenges. IAG is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading independent financial and business advisers in infrastructure consisting of over 380 professionals.

 

Our team leads exciting projects across both public and private sectors principally focused on major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Transport, Energy, Water, Defence, Oil and Gas and Health. This is a fast-growing area offering many opportunities building upon a global capability in Asset Management where we provide:

• Asset Strategy and Transformation, including operating model design and transformation of asset management functions.
• Asset Health and Performance including investment planning, efficiency improvements in capital and operating expenditure, as well as asset resilience, asset data, investment business cases and benchmarking.
• Digital asset management including asset performance and financial modelling and smart technology.
• Investor assurance of asset performance and transaction due diligence support.

The Technology in M&A team at KPMG is a growing and dynamic team. We deal with all aspects of the technology function, from strategy, cloud, digital, technology spend, etc. We work with both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal technology issues.

The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour.  We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Advisory business, and are focused on continually enhancing value for clients across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams comprise of specialists capable of helping clients right through from conceptual thinking of buying a business to turning their business around in times of difficulty.

The People in M&A Centre of Excellence deals with all aspects of the employee journey in M&A, as well as leveraging our experience to enact transformational change outside of a deal context. From early-stage strategy development and organisational design for carve-outs, to synergy cases and cost benefits, employee experience and corporate culture, employee transfer, through to the conception, development and management of effective transformational solutions to help an organisation achieve its ambitions and objectives. We work together to develop solutions to the issues our clients may face and understand the financial benefits or risks that may be present from a people perspective. We are looking for a skilled and proactive Data Engineer with strong expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, including Microsoft Fabric, Synapse Analytics, and Delta Lake. This role requires hands-on experience in building and optimising data pipelines and notebooks, transforming large datasets, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable data solutions, collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and helping shape our modern data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and notebooks using Synapse Analytics and Microsoft Fabric.
• Build and optimise complex data transformation and ingestion logic to support enterprise-level reporting and analytics.
• Leverage Delta Lake architecture to support both batch and streaming data processes.
• Develop high-quality, reusable code in Python and PySpark, following best practices and ensuring maintainability.
• Create insightful, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Use Git and Azure DevOps (ADO) for version control and deployment workflows.
• Continuously improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of data systems.
• Advocate for best practices in data governance, data quality, and documentation.
