The Power & Utilities (P&U) team is the largest within IAG, serving major UK and European utility companies. It delivers expert advice in areas such as project finance, regulatory policy, business planning, and corporate financial management—helping clients attract investment, optimise regulatory outcomes, and create value for customers and shareholders.

The Role:


The Senior Technical Architect is responsible for delivering and implementing KPMG’s M365 solutions for our clients. The Senior Architect will be comfortable presenting these solutions to clients in workshops and demonstrations. The Senior Architect will manage the end-to-end delivery working with other Architects and Consultants to ensure our projects are delivered with time and quality a key objective. The Senior Architect will mentor junior members of the team and encourage a collaborative working environment. 
 

The Senior Architect will be responsible for:

  • Creating architectural designs based on customer requirements.
  • Deliver product presentations and configured demonstrations to prove our ability to meet a prospect’s cloud adoption needs.
  • Act as the Technical Design Authority on projects alongside the Solution Architects.
  • Provide governance to projects and mentor members of the team. 
  • Maintaining technical knowledge by working closely with our Microsoft account teams. 
  • Developing and implementing Entra/Active Directory solutions, including Entra ID and on-premises Active Directory (AD DS, AD FS, AD CS and Entra Connect)
  • Ensuring the security and configuration of Entra and Active Directory environments.
  • Work with clients demonstrate how their cloud strategy aligns with Microsoft technology.
  • Showcase our propositions to customers via online webinars and face to face workshops.
  • Engage with KPMG stakeholders and ensure our solutions are understood throughout the firm. 
  • Work on proposals and RFI’s alongside the sales and pre-sales teams.

The Role

We are looking for a Manager to support the fast growing Power & Utilities Projects team covering water and energy infrastructure including new nuclear generation, onshore and offshore networks, interconnectors, and other major assets.

The Projects business is focussed on designing new markets and advising on in-house and competitive delivery models for major infrastructure projects and programmes.  We advise companies, developers, bidders and regulators on all aspects of delivering major infrastructure assets and competitive procurements. Our business is expanding rapidly and we are looking for a high-quality candidate to support our Power & Utilities business, with a particular focus on the water sector.

The Role
 

  • You would be joining the leading provider of strategic economic consultancy services in the water sector.
  • While you will have specific responsibilities for contributing towards the team’s water business, there will also be opportunities to work in other sectors, primarily energy networks.
  • Working closely with sector and subject matter experts you will develop to become the ‘go to’ person for water sector economic advice. This will involve developing an in-depth understanding of Ofwat’s regulatory framework.
  • You will build relationships with key clients across the sector, as well as with other advisors (e.g., legal and engineering. The projects that you will advise on will be high profile and caried. For example, in recent years we have advised on the regulatory framework for the Thames Tideway Tunnel, every aspect of water companies' business plans, bulk supply trading negotiations, Competition and Markets Authority re-determinations, major transactions, organisational transformations, and much more. If there is a large strategic project taking place in the sector, the chances are we will be advising on it. 
  • There is no ‘typical project’. You will need to apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles, while having the capacity to think creatively.  
  • The work will include a combination of report drafting, economic analysis, and engaging with clients. 
  • You will need to be comfortable managing, coaching, and mentoring junior staff across a number of projects. 
  • You will contribute towards building the team, identifying opportunities in the market, and providing thought leadership.
