The Role

Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Corporate and Financial investors.  Whilst we have teams focused on clients in four key markets Corporates; Private Equity & Credit; Real Estate and Energy & Infrastructure, we are a national and connected team, working and learning with each other.

• Corporates:  We work alongside some of the most forward-thinking FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, as well as Corporates across the UK, supporting them with strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures both in the UK and cross-border. Our corporates business is a multi-sector business, including Consumer, Life sciences, TMT, Industrials, ENR and Banking & Insurance. 
• Asset Management:  We work with Private Equity, Infrastructure, Renewable/ Energy transition, and Real Estate Funds, both large and mid-cap, as well as institutional investors such as Sovereign Wealth Funds and Pension Funds.  Our clients have UK, European and Global investment strategies and will often have team

We are looking for a Global Mobility Services Tax Senior Manager to join us in Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh), the North (Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle), the Midlands (Birmingham) or the South (Reading and Bristol). The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a confident, outward-facing skillset, and who is willing to invest time and energy in the marketplace.

The Company Secretarial and Global Entity Management Team sits within KPMG Law. Its establishment flows naturally from KPMG’s long history of successfully delivering multidisciplinary services to clients. Its vision is to be the corporate secretarial adviser of choice for KPMG’s clients in relation to compliance and governance matters.

Over the next few years, this team will grow, and KPMG Law as a whole will expand into other areas of law that fit within its vision and the needs of KPMG’s clients.

The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.   

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas.

Our Deal Advisory Tax work includes advisory services across the whole deal spectrum including company/sell-side vendor assist, refinancing and due diligence projects, to buy-side due diligence and structuring. We help our clients understand historical tax issues and structure transactions, with a continuous focus on maximising value throughout the investment cycle. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes and global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2).
