KPMG’s Deal Execution practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Associate Director role. The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour.  We are a diverse team working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Deal Advisory business, and are focused on continually enhancing value for clients across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams comprise of specialists capable of helping clients right through from conceptual thinking of buying a business to turning their business around in times of difficulty.

 

The Deal Execution Advisory Team

KPMG's Deal Execution Advisory Team is a growing and dynamic team. We work with both vendors and acquirers on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, exits and joint ventures, both pre and post-deal.

The team offers four key proposition areas:

Separation: Supporting vendors to plan and deliver a credible, discrete standalone entity to the Buyer with value preserved and business continuity in place from Day 1, including supporting the definition and implementation of transitional service agreements.

Integration: Pre and post deal integration design, planning and implementation to integrate the target business into the Buyer’s organisation whilst mitigating risk and enhancing value.

Synergies: Understanding the potential benefits and costs generated through a proposed transaction, and the associated plans, interdependencies, risks and issues for the delivery of base and stretch case targets.

Joint Ventures: Helping respective partners ensure the key value considerations are identified and prioritised early and delivered through the associated business plan, leveraging each party’s specific contribution and capabilities and managing broader stakeholder relationships.

You will be a Senior Manager within our Tech Transformation Practice (aligned to WAM Consulting) and will be helping both grow our business and ensure our teams deliver high quality advice to clients. You should expect to be involved in a wide range of challenging client engagements across the WAM value chain for clients from across the ecosystem. As a Senior Manager you will be expected to lead on the delivery of key client work items such as leading programmes or being responsible for building KPMG IP.

KPMG’s Legal Operations and Transformation Services (LOTS) team supports clients in optimising their legal function to achieve operational excellence.  

 

There are 2 core service offerings within LOTS: a powered contracting practice, based on Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) technology, and a legal operating model transformation service.  Across LOTS, we are winning new clients and are growing our team as a result of these successes and as a new role, it is an exciting time for a candidate to come in, make a big impact on the function and shape the role.

 

We are looking for talented Assistant Managers to join us in growing the legal operating model transformation practice within LOTS, through managing and developing external client relationships and building out our offerings. 

 

The candidate will gain experience across the lifecycle of a transformation project and in developing a new offering for KPMG, working closely with other KPMG LOTS teams globally as well as interaction with other services within KPMG such as CIOA and People in Change.  The wider LOTS team has a focus on legal technology and automation and the candidate will have the opportunity to work across all client bases, from mid-market to FTSE listed companies, from public sector to financial services to FMCG. 

—    Provide subject matter expertise and industry insights to our clients undergoing legal transformation
—    Support and contribute to the development of go-to-market strategies, collateral, methodologies and alliance partner relationships

As the team and business grows, the candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of people and culture within the team, ensuring continuous development and support for more junior members.

 

The candidate will also be expected to support with activities related to business development, marketing and communications and collateral development to feed in to the wider LOTS business, in the UK and globally.

Candidates will be expected to have a strong track record at engaging with and managing stakeholders across different seniorities, functions and industries.

The Opportunity

  • KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager  - with at least 9 years post qualified experience in the real estate sector ideally working for real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
  • The KPMG Law UK real estate team started in December 2013 and is now 7 strong including 2 Partners with further growth plans during 2025 already acting on repeat investment, development and asset management mandates for private equity funds and sovereign wealth clients.
  • The successful candidates will have experience within corporate and/or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
  • The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
