Its establishment flows naturally from KPMG’s long history of successfully delivering multidisciplinary services to clients. Its vision is to be the corporate secretarial adviser of choice for KPMG’s clients in relation to compliance and governance matters. In this role, you will oversee a portfolio of innovative projects and propositions, leading a team of business analysts and project delivery leads. As one of the largest teams in the industry, our continued investment in innovation advisory means that we seek engineers and scientist to join us on the next exciting phase of our growth.

 

Our team works with clients from owner managed business, to large multinational organisation, and we are looking for a Manager with a strong scientific/ engineering background to assist clients across a suite of innovation advisory services including R&D tax credits, Patent Box, R&D Allowances, Grants and Innovation Advisory services.

The role is to provide in-house employment law related advisory service on demand and proactively on initiative, to clients of the ELAT team, principally being human resources professionals within KPMG.  The proposal is that the solicitor will assist other team members in relation to all of the employment law requirements of the business including advising on the creation and interpretation of People policies. There is also a requirement to undertake investigations in high-risk or sensitive conduct cases as and when required.

 

Advice will be on both contentious and non-contentious employee related matters which occur in KPMG’s offices throughout the UK. This will include providing advice to the in-house employee relations team.  Employment litigation experience is also required.

 

In carrying out the role, the solicitor will be required to work as the junior employment lawyer joining the existing team currently comprising three solicitors.

 

The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with and manage external law firms and barristers when appropriate. However, the majority of the employment legal advice is currently carried out in house.

Our Transaction Services practice comprises approximately 500 people across the UK, organised to align to KPMG’s market orientated structure, and is at the heart of the Firm's agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle.  Our team works closely with colleagues across Deal Advisory as well as Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our One Firm agenda. We are recruiting Associate Directors in our Private Equity, Financial Services, Corporates and Capital Markets teams across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.
