The KPMG Alternatives team provides high-quality and impactful tax advisory and compliance services to the Alternative Investment Fund sector. This includes private equity, hedge funds, credit funds and real estate funds.

Due to our ongoing growth, we have a number of job openings for exceptional candidates. This posting is for a role focussed on Real Estate tax and would be well suited to a driven and motivated candidate with experience in the Real Estate sector. We would also like to hear from candidates who have experience of working in a tax team within a real estate fund. Our Investigations & Compliance team helps clients to establish the facts in relation to an incident, loss or misconduct and then to remediate and recover value. We are experienced in managing diverse issues including fraud and misconduct, regulatory compliance, risk frameworks and modelling and much more.

As a Senior Manager, we expect you to take a lead role on challenging and complex engagements.  You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage stakeholders and deliver quality solutions to our clients. You will be expected to originate opportunities through both internal and external relationships and take the lead on business development activities, including marketing, knowledge sharing and practice development.

The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.   

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes and global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2).

This role supports the development and drafting of global guidance and communications for sustainability reporting, financial reporting and corporate reporting more broadly, as well as relevant audit and assurance considerations relating to forthcoming and existing IFRS Accounting Standards, IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
