Overview

 

This exciting role is within our London Region Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf office. 

 

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors. 

 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

 

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time. 

 

The Role

 

  • Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters and working with Senior Managers and Managers on our larger client accounts
  • Supporting on tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input based on experience and researching topics and by working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
  • Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
  • Supporting on the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
  • Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
  • Assisting our Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
  • Support the leadership with business development opportunities

 

The person

 

  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
  • UK corporation tax experience

Solicitor, Employment Law Advisory (UK)

The role is to provide in-house employment law related advisory service on demand and proactively on initiative, to clients of the ELAT team, principally being human resources professionals within KPMG.  The proposal is that the solicitor will assist other team members in relation to all of the employment law requirements of the business including advising on the creation and interpretation of People policies. There is also a requirement to undertake investigations in high-risk or sensitive conduct cases as and when required.

 

Advice will be on both contentious and non-contentious employee related matters which occur in KPMG’s offices throughout the UK. This will include providing advice to the in-house employee relations team.  Employment litigation experience is also required.

 

In carrying out the role, the solicitor will be required to work as the junior employment lawyer joining the existing team currently comprising three solicitors.

 

The successful candidate will also be required to liaise with and manage external law firms and barristers when appropriate. However, the majority of the employment legal advice is currently carried out in house.

Overview

Role Description 

 

  • Manages a team of up to 20 within an Managed Services engagement, ensuring operational delivery to required service levels and quality standards, working closely with other Team Leaders, Operation Assistant Managers, Operations Managers and offshore peers where relevant. 

  • Ensures output of team is maximised through timely and appropriate performance management with individuals including coaching and feedback. 

  • Acts as a point of contact for day-to-day client queries, as well as providing input to planning and preparing material for regular weekly and monthly meetings. 

  • Proactively work with several internal functions e.g. People Enablement, Commercial Planning & Sales and Project Enablement and Insight to ensure successful delivery.
