The Team

We are currently recruiting Tax Assistant Managers to join our successful Family Office & Private Client team based in the South (Bristol/Reading).

As a national practice our FO&PC team consists of approximately 150 team members across the UK, led by 9 Partners and 15 Directors.

We work with a variety of high net worth individuals – from stakeholders in privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses, executives of multi-national firms, landed estates and senior members of private equity firms; who may be tax resident and/or domiciled in a range of jurisdictions. We also specialise in providing advice to Trusts and Estates, and Partnerships.

Infrastructure Advisory Group (IAG), a part of KPMG Advisory in the UK, consists of about 400 professionals and is widely recognised as a leading independent business, financial and regulatory adviser in the infrastructure space. The group has won many awards, including Financial Advisor of the Year (Infrastructure Journal) for several years. The group has presence across the UK and is organised on a national basis, operating under a single national cost centre.

We provide in-depth advice on strategic, financial, regulatory and commercial issues driving investments in infrastructure across Transport, Power & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure in the UK and globally. Our work includes market and policy design, economic and regulatory analysis, deal structuring and execution, as well as strategic and transaction advice to enable private and public capital to fund infrastructure. We work closely with other functions within KPMG to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, valuations, tax, accounting, and due diligence.

The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
• As this sector is known to lack diversity, KPMG is dedicated to considering diverse profiles for this role.

• Extensive experience in prominent languages such as Python, Scala, Spark, SQL.
• Experience working with any database technologies from an application programming perspective - Oracle, MySQL, Mongo DB etc.
• Experience with the design, build and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure
• Robust understanding of design practices and system architecture and with a focus on data security
• Extensive experience of defining code review standards to drive quality
• Excellent problem solving skills with experience of troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues
• Experience working with cloud platforms and in particular architecting with native cloud resources relevant to data problems
• Extensive experience driving and leading Agile methodologies (Scrum, pair-programming etc)
• Have the ability to work in a cross functional team of Business Analysts and demonstrating an excellent understanding of business requirements.
• Strong communication skills along with ability to lead a team towards a great product/service and articulate technical strategies to non-technical audiences including clients at all levels including C-suite
