We are seeking a talented manager with experience of working across a wide range of Corporate and Defence clients. They should be able to manage and deliver client engagements, with demonstrable experience of managing the design and delivery of complex change and people transformation programmes to support our clients with addressing key market challenges. KPMG’s Fixed Asset Tax Services Team (capital allowances) is made up of tax advisers, accountants, chartered surveyors and ex-HMRC inspectors who deliver expert advice to a broad range of clients across almost every industry sector. We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our London team, focusing primarily on the real estate, infrastructure, banking, and insurance sectors, who has a background in capital allowances, tax or accounting.


Role and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be:

  • A client facing individual who will work collaboratively with engagement teams both locally and nationally to prepare capital allowances claims, elections and allowances statements.
  • Actively involved in delivering ad-hoc advisory work such as entitlement reviews, transaction input (such as tax due diligence, structuring and modelling) and significant one-off consultancy projects.
  • Supporting the engagement team on mandatory risk procedures.
  • Keeping documentation up to date and managing junior team members.
  • Sharing knowledge.
  • Starting to work with local stakeholders and peers to establish a strong network of referrals and business development opportunities.

Role Purpose

 

The role of the Solution Architect is to help the Firm deliver its business strategy through technology. Strategy & Architecture sit within EWT. The team provide technology solutions to the firm, covering Design, Assurance and Strategic Direction to the firm.

 

Core Knowledge

 

Extensive Solution Architecture Experience

· Work with Capability CTOs, technical SMEs, and specific projects to analyse and translate business requirements into technical requirements, ensuring that these are feasible

· Maintain a high level of technical knowledge incl. current, emerging and future technology market trends and their impact on the business

· Develop and maintain expert knowledge of KPMG’s technology ecosystem, incl. the main applications and technologies that support one or more KPMG Capabilities, e.g., Tax, Audit, etc.

· Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics domain.

· Create and develop the requisite documentation – conceptual and detailed solution architecture design documents.

· Contribute to governance processes where applicable – this will include helping the project navigate the Technology Assurance Process

· Work closely with the Strategy & Architecture team, development teams, other architects and 3rd party suppliers.

· Create & maintain a detailed view of existing architecture in order to help manage the transition to future state architecture.

· Identify business/project risk and mitigate or communicate as necessary.

· Ensure progress updates are communicated to relevant parties both formally and informally.

What will you be doing?

  • Help manage and co-ordinate cyber security incidents for our clients, working closely with the incident management lead within the team.
  • Digital forensics of relevant incident data (disk, volatile memory, network packets, log files).
  • Maintaining a current view of the cyber threat and being able to advise clients on the threat landscape and attacks which may be relevant to them.
  • Develop KPMG’s in house cyber-response tools
  • Help assess client incident response capability maturity.
  • Help stand-up or improve clients’ own incident response capabilities.
  • Help with project management of engagements to deliver high quality work in a timely manner, including:
    • Scoping
    • Basic financial management
    • Engagement and risk management
    • Production and review of deliverables.
  • Liaising with clients on delivery, implementation and sales issues.
