The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.  

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas.

Our Deal Advisory Tax work includes advisory services across the whole deal spectrum including company/sell-side vendor assist, refinancing and due diligence projects, to buy-side due diligence and structuring. We help our clients understand historical tax issues and structure transactions, with a continuous focus on maximising value throughout the investment cycle. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes

Role Purpose
KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions is building a world class Microsoft Dynamics Practice:  The team is focusing on advisory and implementation services that relate to the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM & ERP). This will include leading the implementation of these systems and engagements relating to Independent Programme Assurance where third parties are delivering such programmes. 


The Solution Architect role is required to lead the technical delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM centred solutions on large complex programmes or a portfolio, drive deep technical expertise within DevOps and functional leadership within the practice to deliver quality, client-centric solutions. Provides deep industry expertise to build and cultivate strong business relationships at a senior level. The role will champion innovation both within the firm and with clients, sharing Thought Leadership within the practice across the relevant Industry specialism. Collaborating with the Global team to enhance the out of the box Dynamics functionality, giving KPMG a unique selling point and also a resalable asset. Takes a leading role in identifying development needs of team members and provides coaching, mentoring or stretch assignments to support individuals achieve their full potential as well as promoting collaboration across team.
    
Role Responsibilities    

  • Leads customer delivery of our Microsoft Dynamics 365/CRM centred solutions on large, complex programmes or portfolios, through the management of a team of professionals and possibly with the contribution of cross-functional/team specialists
  • Effectively manages commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement to achieve expected levels of quality and profitability
  • Executes projects to a level that meet member firm’s quality standards within a commercial context.
  • Manages scope and delivers timely and quality deliverables
  • Provides inputs/takes a lead in the creation of innovative and repeatable solutions that strengthen business performance and differentiate KPMG from our competition.
  • Responsible for ensuring our pre-sales engagements are delivered with the same rigour and attention to detail as our client engagements.  
  • Identify business/project risk and mitigates as necessary, does not undertake work that does not fit with firm capabilities or Risk Management criteria
  • Deliver all consultancy according to the MBS and/or KPMG Methodology, ensuring that all software applications are implemented successfully according to the project plan
  • Holds review on completion of projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and commercial planning
  • Works on CPD to maintain Microsoft accreditation status and keeping up to date with technical developments.

  • Knowledge & Skills (including Qualifications)
  • Deep technical expertise in DevOps and broad working knowledge of technical and functional capabilities of Dynamics CRM including appropriate certification is essential (CRM Online 2013, 2015, 2016 or 365).
  • Strong technical architecture experience is essential especially around integrating Microsoft Dynamics CRM with other solutions such as other Microsoft products and third party or legacy systems.
  • Extensive experience of leading the end to end delivery of multiple complex CRM solutions including systems integration and using the Microsoft technology stack.

The Role

Responsibilities

  • We require the individual to manage technical client projects and support internal product development around risk and regulatory issues for our banking clients.
  • Support the development of risk and regulatory topics including wholesale conduct risk, prudential risk, market risk and/or financial and non-financial regulatory reporting.
  • Advise clients on the benefits and impact of regulations, current industry practices and advancements.
  • Keep abreast of all latest trends and any new regulations, leveraging off international SME support where applicable.
  • The individual will be required to apply their skills to a broad range of Banking Risk-related issues supporting both regional and national propositions.

The Person

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Good understanding of banks and/or trading businesses
  • Strong understanding of financial products
  • Strong understanding of financial services firms' businesses, structures, governance frameworks, risk management and process and control arrangements, in the Banking and/or Investment Management sectors
  • Strong familiarity with role of key bank functions including Front office, Market Risk, Product control, Treasury and Compliance
  • Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills and ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external networks
  • Experience of regulation impacting banking clients and knowledge of new regulatory developments impacting them
  • A practical understanding of the ‘three lines of defence’ model
  • Flexibility and agility to contribute in a senior capacity to a broad range of banking risk engagements
  • Excellent oral / written communication, planning, project management, networking and influencing skills.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage a team of professional staff, including decision-making, time management, prioritisation, organisation, and evaluation skills
  • Flexibility to work across the UK (and internationally) where required
  • Higher qualification in mathematical subject (Maths, Economics, Physics, Engineering etc) (or other related degree) or programming skills advantageous.

Regulatory knowledge

  • Knowledge of regulatory and other developments impacting your proposition area eg. MAR/Benchmarks Regulation/Consent order.

Involvement in relevant industry working groups, associations advantageous.
