The Role:
The Copilot Technical Architect plays a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of Microsoft Copilot solutions across industries. This position combines deep technical knowledge with client-facing experience, and is responsible for owning key solution areas, guiding implementation teams, and supporting pre-sales and go-to-market initiatives. The Technical Architect works closely with the Copilot Data Lead, Solution Consultants, and Business Development Managers to ensure client success and internal enablement.


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Own the technical design and architecture of Copilot-based solutions across client engagements.
  • Lead the creation of proof-of-concepts (PoCs), demos, and solution assets that align with business requirements and technical feasibility.
  • Provide architectural oversight to project teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with Microsoft best practices.
  • Support presales activities including client workshops, bid responses (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), and technical presentations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to define reusable solution components and accelerators.
  • Stay aligned with the Microsoft roadmap for Copilot, AI Studio, Fabric, and Power Platform technologies.
  • Guide junior consultants and technical leads, providing mentoring and review support.
  • Contribute to internal capability building by sharing knowledge and leading enablement sessions.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a technical architect, pre-sales, or advanced consulting role.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Power Platform, and Microsoft Azure services.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and present complex Microsoft-based solutions to both technical and business audiences.
  • Proven success in at least one major industry (e.g., Financial Services, Public Sector, Retail, Manufacturing, Energy, or Professional Services).
  • Experience with licensing and integration strategy around Copilot and supporting Microsoft technologies.

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft AI Studio, Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications.
  • Familiarity with Power Automate and broader intelligent automation patterns.
  • Experience working in client delivery roles with a strong utilisation rate.

Role Summary:

 

The Director leads strategic contracting managed services programmes, accountable for the transformation lifecycle from pre-sales through to post-signature delivery. You will actively support the sales process, collaborating with Partners to build robust business cases, develop pricing strategies, and define optimal managed service team structures. You will comprehensively assess the client's As-Is environment and design a future-state To-Be model that effectively integrates people, process, technology, and governance to drive substantial improvements. Additionally, you will oversee the transition of complex contracting operations into KPMG's optimised delivery model, ensuring commercial success and developing senior-level client relationships at the GC/CXO level.
