The Role Deal Advisory Tax provides market leading services to both Financial and Corporate investors.  Whilst we have teams focused on clients in our three performance groups of Financial Services, Corporates and National Markets, we are a national and connected team, working and learning with each other. Financial Services:  We work with private equity, infrastructure, and real estate funds as well as institutional investors such as sovereign wealth funds and pension funds.  Our clients have UK, European and Global investment strategies. Corporates:  We work alongside some of the most forward-thinking FTSE 100 and 250 businesses, supporting them with strategic acquisitions, carve outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures both in the UK and cross-border. National Markets:  We work across the UK with mid-market corporates and PE funds, looking to invest

This role is for an innovative professional at assistant manager level. This role will work alongside our existing team to use their lived experience of the full project and programme lifecycle in the construction industry and their procurement / commercial acumen to solve complex problems.

You will be providing advice to a broad range of clients on many different matters, helping them to achieve successful outcomes through planning and implementing innovative and robust procurement and commercial interventions.

The MPA team in the UK are based in London, Birmingham and Manchester. This role will be based in one of these locations but will require travel to client locations throughout the UK and occasionally overseas.

Power & Utilities (P&U) is one of the largest business areas of the IAG and encompasses work for major clients in the sector, including all energy and water utilities as well as some of the largest companies in Europe and beyond. We provide in-depth strategic and technical advice on corporate finance and corporate financial management, regulatory finance, regulatory policy, business and financial planning, cost assessment and benchmarking as well as in other areas directly affecting value. Our work combines elements of policy, finance, strategy and economics to assist our clients in structuring investments, securing financing, supporting regulatory regimes and maximising shareholder value. We are widely recognised by many industry stakeholders as market leaders influencing the future of the utilities sector.

KPMG’s Infrastructure Group in the UK consists of c200 professionals and is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading independent business, financial and regulatory advisers in infrastructure. The group has locations in London, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester, but is organised on a national basis, operating under a single national cost centre.

 

We provide in-depth advice on strategic, financial, regulatory and commercial issues driving investments in infrastructure across Transport, Power & Utilities, and Social Infrastructure in the UK and globally. Our work includes market and policy design, economic and regulatory analysis, deal structuring and execution, as well as strategic and transaction advice to enable private and public capital to fund infrastructure. We work closely with other functions within KPMG to advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, valuations, tax, accounting, and due diligence.

 

The utilities sector is the largest business area for the Infrastructure Group and encompasses work for large clients in the sector, including all of the leading UK energy and water companies as well as some of the largest utilities in Europe and beyond. Our business is continuously expanding and we are looking for high quality candidates to support our Power & Utilities business with a particular focus on cost assessment, modelling and benchmarking as well as financial analysis. This is to support the development of new service lines, building on the work already undertaken in the Group.

Our Transaction Services practice comprises approximately 500 people across the UK, organised to align to KPMG’s market orientated structure, and is at the heart of the Firm's agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle.  Our team works closely with colleagues across Deal Advisory as well as Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our One Firm agenda. We are recruiting Associate Directors in our Private Equity, Financial Services, Corporates and Capital Markets teams across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.
