The role of the Solution Onboarding Cross-functional TOM Lead is to support the solution onboarding program centrally across all KDN functions i.e. Audit, Tax and Advisory. It will support KDN leadership, central teams, delivery centers to align on priorities to onboard solutions. The responsibility of the role is to drive requirements gathering phase for solution and working for through Target Operating Model Blueprint aligned with KDN strategy for all new solutions. The focus of the role will be drafting and improvising a repeatable methodology with supporting documentation/assets to drive TOM Blueprint. Additionally, it will be to implement and track KPI's on the performance of the solution onboarding process; identify, validate and implement process improvement initiatives to streamline solution onboarding process.

Working in our successful CTAC business will give you the opportunity to develop relationships with clients as you manage the tax compliance process together with getting involved on various advisory projects such as, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact of global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

 

What will you be doing?

 

This exciting role is within our London region Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Canary Wharf  office.  We work as a region which comprises 5 other offices. 

 

The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships, develop junior staff, provide excellent client service and identify business development opportunities.

 

  • Be market facing with allocated clients and target organisations.
  • Liaising with the client service team and with colleagues in other tax disciplines as well as the audit and accounting discipline to provide a co-ordinated service to the client.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and identifying leads for new work 
  • Ensuring that clients are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their businesses.
  • Hold conversations with stakeholders in the markets and be capable of introducing relevant specialists from across the firm.
  • Lead by example with client relationships, technical quality and service delivery 
  • Actively promote team and personal profile to internal networks in order to promote collaboration and increase internal leads.
  • Being involved in business development and proposal activity
  • Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
  • Being a role model for KPMG’s values
  • Managing teams, coaching, and developing staff procedures.

 

What will you need to do it?

 

  • Qualified (ACA/ACCA or CTA or equivalent).
  • Strong educational background (preferably 2:1 or higher University degree)
  • Sound knowledge of UK corporate taxation.
  • Sound knowledge of accountancy principles, in particular accounting for tax (including deferred taxation and accounts disclosures).
  • Strong time and task management skills.  Able to remain calm when under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Sustains a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
  • Monitors and upholds high quality of service and products to clients (internal and external). 
  • A practical approach to problems with client focus and commercial awareness.
  • Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work.  Continuously learns from experiences. Seeks out feedback and development opportunities.
  • Ability to build good relationships with clients. 
  • Communicates with impact in a way that is open, honest, consistent, and clear.

The Role
We are looking for a Manager to join FO&PC team in the North and Scotland region (based in Edinburgh or Glasgow).

This is primarily an advisory role and it entails working with high net worth individuals – both with UK affairs and international tax issues, and also working with entrepreneurial businesses and shareholder owned companies.

More specifically, some of the responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the delivery of a high quality personal tax service to our clients.
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of more complex clients and being able to provide personal tax advice on a wide range of assignments including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, income tax, international tax matters, and identifying opportunities to advise your portfolio of clients in relation to these taxes.
  • Providing original and creative thinking to solve tax problems, frequently leading to providing wholly bespoke tax advice and solutions to one-off assignments.
  • Project managing tax advisory assignments to ensure deadlines, risk management and compliance procedures are all met.
  • Managing work in progress and ensuring prompt billing and cash collection.
  • Overseeing the performance and career development of partly and newly qualified staff.
