In this interesting and challenging environment, we are looking to recruit a Manager, in a permanent role, to work with a team of specialists who will be responsible for providing first-line independence support to UK audit teams, including non-audit service permissibility assessments, clearance reviews for audit targets and Sentinel tree accuracy. The team are expected to provide high-quality advice and support to engagement teams.

Corporate Tax Manager

Overview

This exciting role is within our South Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Reading office

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors. 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time. 

KPMG’s Fixed Asset Tax Services Team (capital allowances) is made up of tax advisers, accountants, chartered surveyors and ex-HMRC inspectors who deliver expert advice to a broad range of clients across almost every industry sector. Our team works with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multinational organisations. We are seeking a Senior Manager to join our Scotland team who has a background in capital allowances, tax or accounting. The work is varied and will be across a number of sectors.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Manager to join our team, who will be responsible for working closely with colleagues in defined benefit pensions. Specific areas of focus, but not exhaustive, will include

• Journey planning and risk management, aiming for self-sufficiency or buy out, and endgame options including use of surplus

• Funding advice to sponsors and advice on compliance with DB funding code

• Advice on contingent funding options and work on special purpose vehicles

• Pensions due diligence on mergers and acquisitions

• Provision of member education and communication

• Advice on benefit change, benefit design and implementation

• Advice on good governance and compliance
