Join KPMG Law's tax litigation team and help commercial clients navigate potential and ongoing disputes with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). You will provide early legal and technical insight, assess litigation risk and support cases across the UK courts and tribunals, with exposure to complex tax matters and group litigation. The role offers meaningful ownership across drafting, research, hearing preparation and client relationships, while giving you opportunities to delegate work and support junior colleagues. Working in KPMG's multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with lawyers, tax specialists, counsel and colleagues across the firm while continuing to develop your tax technical expertise.

The successful candidate will be expected to:
•    Developing lasting client relationships and actively building a network and range of experience to help address client needs 
•    Provide compelling and well thought out solutions to problems of moderate complexity Experience of implementing at least one module of the relevant cloud platform with Oracle, so you can bring your learnings to the client about what did (or didn’t!) work •    Leading client facing meetings and facilitation of workshops with larger groups of client teams 
•    Lead an offshore team to design, configure and test a module or process area to successful deployment for a client Developing end to end solutions using the best of good industry practise combined with understanding the optionality available within the product. 
•    Liaise with stakeholders across Powered HR, cross collaborating with other teams across Powered HR, ensuring opportunities are shared and explored to maximise our offering to clients.
•    Be a role model to the wider team by showcasing our values and principles, leading from the front and by example.
•    Assisting with goal development and coaching of staff to enable the growth of the junior management team within our practice.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Manager to join our team, who will be responsible for working closely with colleagues in defined benefit pensions. Specific areas of focus, but not exhaustive, will include

• Journey planning and risk management, aiming for self-sufficiency or buy out, and endgame options including use of surplus

• Funding advice to sponsors and advice on compliance with DB funding code

• Advice on contingent funding options and work on special purpose vehicles

• Pensions due diligence on mergers and acquisitions

• Provision of member education and communication

• Advice on benefit change, benefit design and implementation

• Advice on good governance and compliance
