The Team

 

KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Assistant Manager role, with experience in Industrial Markets and Defence (IM&D) across one or more of our core propositions: Enterprise-wide Transformation, Growth Strategy, Cost and Operational Strategy, and Commercial and Operational Due Diligence.
 
The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Advisory practice.

The Role

 

To be an effective Assistant Manager within our Strategy & Performance Transformation applicants will be expected to:
• Think Strategically and be an excelent problem solver. 

• Liaise effectively with clients while working on engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for KMPG
• Design and run small projects and / or large, complex workstreams with limited oversight
• Product client-ready deliverables that exceed expectations and require limited review

The Role

 

An exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Scotland Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team as an Assistant Manager, based in our Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen office.  Our client base and the services we provide are varied, so you’ve got a great opportunity to get a broad experience where you can learn and develop. Key aspect of the role will involve:

 

  • Being one of the main points of contact on a portfolio of clients on day-to-day tax matters, working primarily with our Managers and our Senior Manager
  • Supporting on the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance services
  • Supporting on tax advisory projects by providing UK corporation tax input, based on experience and researching topics, and by working with other areas of tax and our overseas members firms to incorporate their input into our advice
  • Ensuring our clients are kept up to date with emerging corporate and wider tax developments impacting their business
  • Assisting on the delivery of tax reporting and tax audit work
  • Supervising the work of junior members of staff and providing coaching to support their development.
  • Assisting our Managers and Senior Managers with client account management, including complying with appropriate quality and risk management procedures and financial management
  • Support the leadership with business development opportunities

 

The role would involve a mixture of tax compliance, reporting and advisory work and there would be flexibility around the weighting of time to these different components of the role based on your experience and areas of interest.

  • Qualified CTA or ACA / CA or equivalent
  • UK corporation tax experience
