The Legal Services Team sits within KPMG Tax. Its establishment flows naturally from KPMG’s long history of successfully delivering multidisciplinary services to clients. Its vision is to be the legal adviser of choice for KPMG’s clients when it comes to their people, corporate structures, internal arrangements, regulatory requirements and disputes with HMRC. KPMG is now regulated by the SRA as a multi-disciplinary practice.
Core corporate, commercial and employment law teams, and a market leading tax litigation team, are already in place. Over the next few years, these teams will grow and Legal Services will expand into other areas of law that fit within its vision and the needs of KPMG’s clients.

Role and responsibilities:

You will help the team with the following service offerings:
(i) Early legal and technical input into potential disputes with HMRC.
(ii) Reviewing a variety of ideas and situations and appraising for litigation risk.
(iii) Litigation in the Tax Tribunals, High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and ECJ

This will include:

(i) First drafts of pleadings such as notices of appeal and witness statements.
(ii) First draft correspondence, advice and reports.
(iii) Legal research.
(iv) Case management of ‘group litigation’ cases.
(v) Preparing for hearing including preparing bundles of documents and authorities.
(vi) Instructions to Counsel, attending Conferences and preparing settled notes.
(vii) General litigation support.
(viii) Delegation to junior team members.

Education and qualifications:

The applicant will be a tax litigation lawyer with experience in litigation and/or tax dealing with commercial clients.In addition, a successful applicant will have the ability to get up to speed quickly on tax technical matters and be keen to continue developing his/her legal skills and engage in new areas of work.
The applicant must be able to demonstrate his/her ability to build relationships with across KPMG or with clients

Job Title: Manager – Legal Business Services

Role Overview
As a Manager in KPMG’s Legal Business Services (LBS) team, you will lead client delivery across legal transformation projects, driving innovation in contract management, legal technology, and operating model design. You will play a pivotal role in helping clients embed legal into business processes, harnessing AI and automation, and redesigning their legal supply chains.

This is a client-facing leadership role, with responsibility for scoping, designing, and delivering engagements, as well as developing our propositions and helping to grow the LBS business.

What you will do

Lead client engagements, from diagnostics to delivery, applying our methodologies.
Design target legal operating models and implement transformation roadmaps
Oversee legal technology implementation projects, ensuring effective integration into enterprise systems (e.g. CLM, AI, Matter and Spend Management)
Drive managed services design and transition, enabling scalable delivery of contracting and legal processes.
Facilitate client workshops to capture requirements and prioritise initiatives by value, risk, and feasibility.
Contribute to business development through proposals, thought leadership, and pre-sales support.

Leadership & Management

Manage multi-disciplinary engagement teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to KPMG standards.
Mentor and coach junior team members, contributing to their development and the growth of the practice.
Collaborate across KPMG service lines and global teams to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.

Skills & Experience

Strong consulting or professional services experience, ideally with exposure to legal, contracting, or compliance.
Proven experience in leading delivery of transformation projects (e.g. CLM, operating model, process redesign).
Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile and traditional).
Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and build lasting client relationships.
Experience with legal technology platforms (e.g. Ironclad, CPAI, DocuSign CLM, iCertis, SirionLabs, Wolters Kluwer, Harvey) is desirable.

Senior Manager - OGC Commercial

We are looking for an experienced KPMG colleague to join the OGC Commercial team to assist in contract review and negotiation. The role's primary function will be contract review and negotiation and a focus on support of our Audit client facing teams. Candidates should have a good understanding of KPMG’s risk appetite, as they will be handling requests for changes to engagement letters, General Terms of Business, and Additional Terms. Experience in negotiating contracts with clients or audited entities would be an asset.
