Role

We are seeking a US Manager within our Global Mobility Services (GMS) team to deliver US tax compliance services across a variety of clients.

Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of US tax compliance tasks, serving as the central coordination point between the client and internal teams
  • Review of US tax returns, and review of US tax equalisation calculations
  • Conduct US arrival/departure briefings
  • Review of various payroll reporting forms related to business travellers to the US, including Form 1042, Form 1042-S, and Form 8233
  • Review and support clients with US payroll reporting requirements including year-end calculations
  • Contributing to client service teams, helping ensure they function smoothly and effectively
  • Preparation of written US advice for clients, and helping to advise clients on US GMS issues
  • Project management of advisory projects carried out for clients
  • Ensuring clients are provided with recurring updates of tax compliance status and adherence to SLAs
  • Managing, coaching and training more junior team members
  • Coordination with overseas member firms to provide cross border advice and tax compliance issues
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring accuracy in client invoices

Job Title:  Manager – Legal Business Services

Role Overview
As a Manager in KPMG’s Legal Business Services (LBS) team, you will lead client delivery across legal transformation projects, driving innovation in contract management, legal technology, and operating model design. You will play a pivotal role in helping clients embed legal into business processes, harnessing AI and automation, and redesigning their legal supply chains.

This is a client-facing leadership role, with responsibility for scoping, designing, and delivering engagements, as well as developing our propositions and helping to grow the LBS business.

What you will do

  • Lead client engagements, from diagnostics to delivery, applying our methodologies.
  • Design target legal operating models and implement transformation roadmaps
  • Oversee legal technology implementation projects, ensuring effective integration into enterprise systems (e.g. CLM, AI, Matter and Spend Management)
  • Drive managed services design and transition, enabling scalable delivery of contracting and legal processes.
  • Facilitate client workshops to capture requirements and prioritise initiatives by value, risk, and feasibility.
  • Contribute to business development through proposals, thought leadership, and pre-sales support.

Leadership & Management

Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile and traditional).
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and build lasting client relationships.
  • Experience with legal technology platforms (e.g. Ironclad, CPAI, DocuSign CLM, iCertis, SirionLabs, Wolters Kluwer, Harvey) is desirable.

  • Maintaining and developing strong relationships with clients;
  • Becoming the day- to-day contact for allocated clients;
  • Assisting with the innovation of indirect tax opportunities, and the delivery of those opportunities;
  • Delegating work to and developing tax assistants; and
  • Working closely with Senior Managers and Directors who will provide you with the support and opportunities to assist you in realising your full potential.
