The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).

• The Employment Law Team comprises 15 team members who regularly work with a wide cross-section of the KPMG client-facing business.
• The Team is growing fast.  In the past 18 months it has gone from I to 3 Partners.
• The team undertakes a variety of work with a focus on workforce and pay compliance (including national minimum wage, holiday pay, employment status, pay gap reporting and equal pay), workforce change (people aspects of restructurings including redundancies and TUPE transfers,  changes to terms and conditions and transactional support) as well as general HR/ ER advisory work and global employment projects.
• The applicant should be a team player with an entrepreneurial spirit and be prepared to work in a different way to lawyers in traditional law firms.

Role and Responsibilities

The role of Pursuit Manager is to establish and manage the pursuit process to support the pursuit team and Lead Partner and provide writing expertise. This position will manage significant pursuits across advisory (and often more than one at the same time).

You will be expected to provide advice and some challenge across all major elements of the pursuit process including maintaining action plans, developing pursuit timelines with key milestones, supporting and developing the client contact plan, proposal design and production, attend value proposition and win themes sessions, political analysis & story-boarding sessions, providing first drafts of non-technical content and quality checks. The Pursuit Manager will have sound knowledge of the pursuit sales methodology across all stages of the pursuit process and implement pursuit best practice. The Pursuit Manager will be responsible for communicating timelines, milestones and responsibilities throughout the pursuit to ensure completion.
