Our Transaction Services practice comprises approximately 500 people across the UK, organised to align to KPMG’s market orientated structure, and is at the heart of the Firm's agenda to increase its penetration of boardrooms and work with clients across the economic and transaction cycle.  Our team works closely with colleagues across Deal Advisory as well as Tax, Audit and other Advisory teams; it is a multi-disciplinary and international environment that sits right at the heart of our One Firm agenda. We are recruiting Associate Directors in our Private Equity, Financial Services, Corporates and Capital Markets teams across the UK to support the growth of our TS business.

The Strategy group’s teams work with C-level Executives to identify, structure and solve their most critical strategic issues across the economic and transaction cycles. As part of a fast-paced and dynamic group, our consultants offer strategic advice on financial, business and operating models to corporate, public sector and private equity clients.

 

Within the Strategy group team we have an established pricing strategy practice, serving number of sectors including retail, consumer goods, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, transport and industrial manufacturing sectors serving UK, European and international clients. We work with C-level executives to identify, structure and solve their most critical strategic issues related to deal strategy, and growth strategy.

The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.   

 

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

 

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes and global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS 2.0 Pillar 2).

We are looking for a talented Director to join our team, who will be responsible for building and leading our pension risk transfer proposition.

Lead the growth of Tax Governance Services across the North, helping organisations strengthen tax governance, manage risk and respond to evolving UK and global requirements. You will shape client relationships, lead high-impact engagements and develop new services, including the safe use of artificial intelligence in tax. Working with a multidisciplinary UK team, you will build local capability while contributing to the national practice and supporting colleagues to develop. This is an opportunity to combine tax governance expertise, commercial judgement and people leadership in a role with broad influence and scope for further progression.
