A key focus for KPMG’s GCT team is to help multinational groups and financial services clients manage their global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations, through outsourcing, co-sourcing, transformation and technology. We are looking for talented Managers to join us with technical experience such as:

 

  • Strong tax and/or accounting compliance and reporting expertise and/or
  • Strong VAT compliance and/or VAT process management expertise and/or
  • Strong transfer pricing compliance and/or transfer pricing advisory expertise

 

We are additionally looking for experience in:

 

  • Engagement management

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • Project manage the overall delivery of global and large UK tax and accounting compliance and reporting managed service projects;
  • Manage the implementation of managed service and transformation solutions to ensure the widespread adoption across their business units;
  • Support the implementation of technology solutions to support the delivery of our managed service solutions;
  • Enable effective governance and issue resolution, and act as the central point of contact for international clients and KPMG overseas teams;
  • Manage the tax business development process to progress leads to sales and support contract negotiation and agreement;
  • Manage tax & statutory transformation projects ranging from redesigning processes, developing Centres of Excellence, upskilling & technology opportunities;
  • Develop our tax service offerings and service delivery models;
  • Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships with both existing and new clients;
  • Line manage assistant managers and trainees and overseeing output of offshore resource in order to deliver client projects;
  • Identify opportunities for additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists;
  • Coaching and technical support for other team members;
  • Follow KPMG best practice and policy.
  • Manage monthly governance calls with clients to share the impact of tax & statutory legislative changes on their business and the impact on key processes; 
  • Manage issues and escalations arising from global tax compliance delivered under large multinational global engagements. Including but not limited to indirect tax, WHT, transfer pricing, corporate income tax and statutory compliance;
  • Lead regular meetings to update clients on the performance of their tax compliance engagements through qualitive KPIs.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

  • Strong project management/co-ordination skills and experience (e.g. on global compliance outsourcing engagements, tax/accounting transformation programmes or similar projects);
    Experience in process, risk and controls design
  • Experience in transition, change management and stakeholder management

  • Providing technical transfer pricing advice to our National Markets clients on a broad range of topics

  • Coordinating with KPMG's transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax and advisory teams on a range of topics

The Person

We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:

  • Either a CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or attained a Bachelors or Masters degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive transfer pricing experience, preferably including experience of preparing transfer pricing documentation, tax value chain analyses, benchmarking, supporting with tax authority enquiries/Advance Pricing Agreements, project management and managing junior team members
  • Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others.
  • Strong analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
  • High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Keen ability and willingness to keep up to date technically and develop the technical ability of the team below you.
  • Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative as appropriate
  • An appreciation of and/or understanding of ethical/risk issues within a client service environment

Role summary

The Office of the General Counsel (“OGC”) is a key part of KDN and is responsible for managing the organisation’s global legal risk. The OGC is seeking a highly experienced Paralegal who will work directly with OGC team members (including the General Counsel) to provide valuable organisational, technical and administrative support on a mix of corporate and commercial matters. This will include liaising with non-OGC stakeholders, both within KDN and across the wider KPMG organisation, including members of senior management. The successful candidate will support with a wide range of matters, including:

 

  • Analysing new requests for support / queries received into the OGC team and taking / following detailed instructions.
  • Reviewing processes and making suggestions to streamline them to improve efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Assisting with matter-specific Board resolutions – including coordinating any local counsel review and assisting with execution
  • Periodic (e.g., quarterly) reach out to local counsel to check if any new (including proposed) legislative updates
  • Assisting with Board meeting preparations, including scheduling of meetings, collation and circulation of pre-read materials, plus coordination of Board Minutes
  • Supporting team members in managing all phases of corporate and commercial matters, including ad-hoc projects as needed, administrative tasks and workflow management
  • Collating, organising and updating transaction and project documents, including version control and scheduling periodic reviews of these as necessary
  • Supporting with the preparation and maintenance of transaction documents, ensuring accurate record-keeping for completed matters
