The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager  - with at least 9 years post qualified experience in the real estate sector ideally working for real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• The KPMG Law UK real estate team started in December 2013 and is now 7 strong including 2 Partners with further growth plans during 2025 already acting on repeat investment, development and asset management mandates for private equity funds and sovereign wealth clients.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate and/or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).

Job Summary

We are looking for motivated, entrepreneurial corporate lawyers with experience of corporate reorganisations, strong technical skills, and a desire to work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment

The successful candidate would preferably have experience in delivering international business reorganisations and be: 

• a strong technical lawyer with good knowledge of English corporate law and experience delivering a variety of intra-group reorganisations for clients;
• able to understand the legal solution within the wider commercial picture;
• a driven and proactive team player who is keen to support the development of junior team members; and
• entrepreneurial, motivated and be excited by the opportunity to provide legal services in a global, multi-disciplinary environment.

Global markets have been thriving, with significant funding to invest in the right business, and the opportunity to support management teams has never been greater. In our Audit and Assurance business this includes Reporting Accountant roles, Special Purpose Audits, and many other bespoke Assurance projects. To support this growth we have a fantastic opportunity for Directors to join our Transactions Assurance team and work with companies on the audit and assurance requirements of both UK and US initial public offerings, and with a wide variety of project-based assurance and accounting topics, including carve out transactions, acquisitions and opening balance sheet audits and complex private equity transactions.

As a Director, you will act as a role model for your teams, facilitating the effective and efficient delivery of these assurance engagements. You will be responsible for leading teams and supervising the work of staff and providing coaching and developmental support.  You will also be working alongside our Capital Markets and Due Diligence teams where relevant and have opportunities to lead conversations with diverse range of stakeholders involved in projects such as (sponsors, lawyers, accounting advisors). 

There will also be great opportunity to work on business development skills, for example, leading initial management conversations and qualifying opportunities.

The Opportunity

• KPMG Law wishes to hire a Senior Manager (Senior Solicitor) - with experience in the real estate sector ideally working for private equity, sovereign wealth and/or real estate investment fund clients and owners with repeat activity. 
• KPMG Law wishes to grow and develop a legal real estate team to take full advantage of the synergies with, and opportunities created by, KPMG’s market leading tax and deal advisory practices.
• The Tax practice is worth £80/90 million per annum and KPMG is currently missing out on the opportunity to maximise clients in relation to corporate and transactional real estate work.
• The successful candidates will have experience within corporate or transactional Real Estate and may or may not have a portable practice that they will bring with them to KPMG.
• The primary focus of the hires will be meaningful deal experience in this space (KPMG is not looking for real estate tax lawyers as part of these hires).
