As an Audit Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of leading and delivering audit engagements, from planning through to completion on a broad spectrum of clients. The role will include executive level client interaction and exposure to multiple clients on an annual basis, as well as daily tasks such as:

Quality

Planning and execution of audit fieldwork and statutory reporting across a portfolio of engagements
Project management of all aspects of audit including agreeing audit timelines, team briefings, and supervision and delivery of audit work
Identifying, researching and helping to resolve complex audit issues
Preparing engagement deliverables, building relationships with the audited entity staff and acting as an ambassador for the firm

Portfolio and Finance

Budgeting and monitoring the financial performance of projects, focusing on optimising profitability
Working on audit tenders and working as part of the relevant independence team on these tenders. Tasks may include reviewing global engagement records in Sentinel; analysing and categorising the records; contacting partners globally for engagement information; preparing data and drafting Independence reports; and liaising with the UK Ethics and Independence team
You may also have the opportunity to work on specific audit related projects across the audit function
Actively participating with the audit partner/ director in the optimisation and rationalisation of our portfolio of audited entities e.g. through achieving exits or pricing / profitability targets

People

Leading a field work team including supervising and coaching more junior members of staff to help them reach their full potential
Keeping up to date with technical developments in audit quality, audit and accounting standards, and comply with latest quality directives

SAP Capability & Delivery Lead (CDL)

Summary of Role

The SAP CDL is accountable for the quality of delivery of all SAP engagements, both functional and technical, through a matrixed team of Engagement Leaders and Engagement Managers. The CDL enables the growth of our SAP business by validating dealboard submissions, driving resourcing (on, near and offshore), embedding scalable and repeatable methods, incorporating lessons learned to improve delivery, and providing delivery assurance to SAP engagements.

Overview

This exciting role is within our Midlands Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Birmingham or Nottingham office.

Our clients include UK headquartered businesses and inbound groups across a range of sectors.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility and the impact global fiscal change (e.g. BEPS Pillar 2).

We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time.

The role

Working closely with Partners, Directors and/or Senior Managers on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service

Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, critically analysing and challenging their input to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
Managing teams and coaching and developing junior members of staff both in respect of technical delivery and soft skills
Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
