KPMG’s Strategy & Performance Transformation practice is looking for exceptional candidates for an Manager role, with a sector focus on the Consumer, Retail & Leisure industry and with particular experience in Deal Strategy, one of our core propositions. Additional experience across our other propositions - Growth Strategy, Cost and Operational strategy (including Economic Profitability Analysis) and Enterprise-wide Transformation - will also be valuable.

The Strategy & Performance Transformation team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour.  We are a diverse team of over 150 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Advisory business

The KPMG Audit Technology team is dedicated to building cutting-edge solutions in close collaboration with the Audit function. We blend audit expertise with the latest technology, enabling us to understand the challenges our customers face daily and develop indispensable products that simplify their lives while promoting Audit Quality. 

As a crucial member of the team, you will collaborate with a talented mix of Product Owners/Managers, Solution, Cloud and Enterprise Architects, Cloud and Software Engineers, Experience Designers, Business Analysts, and Testing specialists. Together, we build, deliver, and manage a portfolio of truly exciting products. 

You will be working on a range of projects in the water and energy network sectors. Your work will focus on cost assessment.

Our clients seek expert advice relating to cost and performance benchmarking. There is no ‘typical project’. You will need to apply a structured strategic approach to problem solving, drawing on established economic principles, while having the capacity to think creatively.

Our approach to benchmarking can involve econometric models comparing costs across companies. We also support clients through cost benefit analysis and other benchmarking approaches, such as unit cost models.

The projects that you will advise on will be high profile and varied. For example, in recent years we have advised nearly every water and energy network company on their price control reviews, been the lead advisor on several CMA appeals, and advised on major transactions within the sectors. We have the skills and capabilities to be involved in every major development within the sector.

The work will include a combination of report drafting, data collection/verification, economic analysis, econometric analysis, and engaging with clients.

You will also take a key role in developing the skills of more junior staff.

The Finance Centre of Excellence at KPMG brings together individuals with diverse backgrounds from both industry and deal consulting. We work with senior finance teams at deal pace throughout a deal environment. Our strong understanding of the finance function and its’ role in the deal lifecycle means we can provide the right mix of constructive challenge, holistic support and tried and tested frameworks. In doing so, we help clients navigate the complexities of a deal to deliver effective governance and risk management to protect and create deal value.

We work with both acquirers and vendors on pre- and post-deal finance issues, our propositions include: Buy side diligence, sell side diligence, separations, integrations, IPOs, JVs and standing up businesses. We support our clients across the deal lifecycle.
