The Role

KPMG’s Energy and Natural Resources (“ENR”) tax practice covers Oil and Gas, Mining, Power and Utilities (including renewables) and Chemicals. As our clients are facing unprecedented change with the energy transition and fiscal uncertainty our ENR tax and legal practice is growing significantly.  

Our clients comprise some of the largest global ENR clients, covering both UK headquartered and inbound groups. Our work covers deal advisory support, international tax and domestic tax advice.  A successful candidate would have opportunities to work across these areas.

Our Deal Advisory Tax work includes advisory services across the whole deal spectrum including company/sell-side vendor assist, refinancing and due diligence projects, to buy-side due diligence and structuring. We help our clients understand historical tax issues and structure transactions, with a continuous focus on maximising value throughout the investment cycle. Working collaboratively across the KPMG network, our work often involves advice on multiple countries, taxes, and work streams.

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, refinancing and leasing as well as the impact of windfall taxes

The Client Assessment Team Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the team.  The role will have line management responsibility and include working closely with the offshore element of the team.  The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with managing all aspects of the overall workflow.

Our team help the UK’s largest and most complex organisations develop cloud strategies, build the operating models, architectures and capabilities to deliver value from cloud, and operate their cloud or hybrid estates effectively and cost-efficiently.

To support our clients, we use KPMG’s deep industry insights, C-suite relationships, cloud architecture capabilities, alliances and accelerators ranging from our cloud value labs, KPMG Cloud Cost Management models, Cloud controls frameworks and landing zones.  Our 350+ strong engineering teams implement these strategies and solutions – sitting at the heart of major transformations across the UK, helping technology executives convert business strategy into compelling technology outcomes.

The successful candidate will work on a broad range of matters, including being involved in the processes for approving KPMG’s new services and products, assisting with general commercial queries, drafting software licences, supporting our deals teams and providing contract support for KPMG’s engagement teams.
