The Role:

KPMG Law is seeking an experienced mid level corporate lawyer to join its growing Northern team, based in Manchester.

The successful candidate will have broad corporate experience across M&A, equity investments, and corporate reorganisations.

The role will involve:

• providing corporate legal advice on a broad range of client solutions spanning establishing corporate structuring and reorganisations, M&A, equity investments, joint ventures and equity incentive arrangements, in each case, on a domestic and cross border basis
• building relationships with other KPMG teams and KPMG clients to develop and provide multi-disciplinary solutions
• leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects in the UK and internationally
• project managing and driving projects to conclusion
• training and mentoring more junior team members

Experience Required

It is expected that the successful applicant will be an English-qualified solicitor with solid experience, gained in the UK at a reputable firm (but applicants with other suitable experience will also be considered).

• Strong academic, technical, and personal skills are essential.
• Must be able to demonstrate his/her/their experience on transactions, and ability to supervise and develop more junior members of the team. Strong project management skills are a must.
• Be able to demonstrate good experience of coordinating the provision of advice and the production of complex and interrelated legal agreements and documentation by advisers in multiple jurisdictions. While consulting appropriately on difficult issues, he/she/they must be able to deliver robust and appropriate legal advice and exercise sound judgement.
• Significant experience of working with demanding clients across a wide spectrum of scale and sectors and be expert at service delivery.
• He/she/they must be able to demonstrate sound client relationship and business development skills, and a desire to develop these skills further.

The successful applicant will be expected to take responsibility for servicing and continuing to build the team. He/she/they will help promote the team’s work through participating in team and firm events and giving internal and external presentations.

The integration strategy needs to promote a seamless, end-to-end customer and employee experience by enabling the efficient creation and modification of effective and reusable integration components. In particular, the strategy should promote the use of modern, Cloud-based technologies; Infrastructure as Code (IaC), support typical integration use cases; create an operating model that satisfies the demands of the business for integration design, development, testing and release; and establish an integration catalogue that supports the reuse of new technologies, whilst targeting legacy integrations for decommissioning. SAP S/4 HANA Finance Enterprise Architect

The role of the SAP S/4 HANA Finance Enterprise Architect is to develop the UK Firm’s technology strategy for Finance and Engagement Management domain and translate this into a roadmap that determines our investment priorities and transformation portfolio. The technology strategy needs to promote a seamless, end-to-end customer and employee experience by enabling the efficient creation and modification of effective and reusable technology components. In particular, the strategy should promote the use of modern, Cloud-based technologies; support typical Finance use cases; challenge the business strategy based on emerging and future technology trends; and establish a catalogue that supports the reuse of new technology components, whilst targeting legacy applications and technology for decommissioning. The role should also help to execute and govern the strategy, by helping solution architects and projects to design solutions that are fit for purpose and conform to our standards and patterns.
