You will work as part of our rapidly growing Tax Technology & Innovation team. KPMG is investing $5bn over 5 years in technology. You will lead a portfolio of projects and propositions, leading a team of business analysts and project delivery leads to work closely with our clients on groundbreaking solutions to solve their Tax challenges. You will work with the leadership of our tax and technology business to execute our business strategy as well as ensuring that we make the most of technological change. No prior experience in tax or accounting is necessary but previous experience will help in this role.

KPMG’s Fixed Asset Tax Services Team (capital allowances) is made up of tax advisers, accountants, chartered surveyors and ex-HMRC inspectors who deliver expert advice to a broad range of clients across almost every industry sector. Our team works with clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large multinational organisations. We are seeking a Manager to join our London team, focusing primarily on the real estate, infrastructure, banking, and insurance sectors, who has a background in capital allowances, tax or accounting.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be:

• A client-facing individual, responsible for building internal and external relationships in order to win projects and drive sales growth both independently and as part of the market team.
• Working with and managing engagement teams both locally and nationally to prepare capital allowances claims, elections and allowances statements.
• Actively involved in delivering and managing ad-hoc advisory work such as entitlement reviews, transaction input (such as tax due diligence, structuring and modelling) and significant one-off consultancy projects.

The Responsibilities/Job Description  

This role involves working on a range of projects.

The work involves:

• Providing technical transfer pricing advice to our National Markets clients on a broad range of topics
• Developing and maintaining client relationships including acting as the main point of contact for clients and relevant stakeholders
• Managing various projects across multiple jurisdictions and leading the day-to-day delivery processes
• Coordinating with KPMG's transfer pricing, international tax, indirect tax and advisory teams on a range of topics
• Financial management, including developing and managing project budgets and billing to ensure profitable delivery of client engagements
• Coaching and developing junior team members which will also include delivering training sessions and providing on-the-job coaching on a regular basis
• Ensuring timely reporting to senior management
• Actively contributing to identifying new opportunities and managing business development and marketing initiatives along with proposition and market leads

The Person

We are looking for candidates with the following skills/experience:

• Either a CTA, CA, ACA, ACCA or attained a Bachelors or Masters degree in economics, finance, law, accounting or equivalent qualification.
• Extensive transfer pricing experience, preferably including experience of preparing transfer pricing documentation, tax value chain analyses, benchmarking, supporting with tax authority enquiries/Advance Pricing Agreements, project management and managing junior team members
• Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others.
• Strong analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
• High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
• Strong commercial awareness
• Keen ability and willingness to keep up to date technically and develop the technical ability of the team below you.
• Ability to work autonomously and to take initiative as appropriate
• An appreciation of and/or understanding of ethical/risk issues within a client service environment
• Very strong people skills for engaging with our clients and team members
